Why? you may ask well I lost my job today. That in and of it's self just sux big time. And the timing couldn't be worse with the holidays around the corner. I'm not so worried about bills yet, but more about how crappy Christmas will probably be for my kids. I'm thinking we'll just stay home so they don't have to see anyone else get presents and them not, also I wont feel quite as guilty that I ruined the holidays for them. We shall see, at the moment I'm in the middle of a pity party, which I've told myself has to be over by the time I get up tomorrow, one day is enough to mope around.

I've been thinking about just going back to school and getting a degree in something instead of going back to work. I really don't want another dead end job. Its the smart thing to do right? Get an education, get some skills and start on a career, but I feel so old to be starting over. I also feel like it'll be a big imposition to my kids, their mom having to do homework. And the other thing what to be when I grow up? I love photography but I don't exactly want to kill my passion. And Utah is over saturated with photographers.

I'm trying to be more practical and figure out which career field is right for me. Taking into consideration the tattoo factor, it has to be a career I'll love and be glad I went to school for and one that it wont matter that I have tattoos. I've been sorted tossing around the idea of either medical assistance or cosmetology. I did go to cosmetology school about a million years ago but I never finished, the school i went to went belly up....damn you Von Curtis Academy of Hair Design......and I enjoyed it but i almost feel too old to embark on a career in cosmetology. I'm going to call some local community schools around here and see what they have to say. Hopefully I'll figure out my life sooner than later.
any who I'm rambling so I'm going to stop now.
hope y'alls week started out better than mine.
Much love to all my dA friends & family

as a christian ill tell ya every time you lose something means 2 things: either you will receive a waaaay better thing instead or... youre being teached a lesson, which would be personal and only you will find out

Christmas is not about gifts and just because there will be a "poor" christmas doesnt mean u will ruin it for ur kids, dont underestimate them dear, kids are smarter than you think, and most of all they do understand what's going on, dont fall for the merchandise and marketing of christmas, just like winter, christmas is a time of change, a new yeat is near, and things can be diferent. i remember when the crisis hit mexico in 1994 (one of the first lol) that christmas i received nothing in presents, the family didnt gathered together, i had a piece of bread and glass of milk as dinner, and i didnt received absolutely nothing, our tree was just as sad as we were, but you know, i wish at least the family wouldve joined, to laugh a bit, it was a cold sad night. because we chossed it to be that way.

youll be good dont worry dear.
God's bless!

Really sorry to hear about your job loss. I know SLC has always been a little better then the national average for job markets (and Oregon, where I am at, a little worse then average) but it still might be a good time to go and hide out in college until the job market improves.

What were you doing and what do you want to do work wise?
