Christmas Cards 1/5: Learning to Dance

In the past few weeks, I have drawn some musical-themed Christmas cards for some of my friends. Christmas Eve is the big gift-giving day in Finland, so I've scheduled them to be published today...

Here's the first one, featuring Henry Jekyll and John Utterson from the Finnish production of Jekyll & Hyde the musical. Learning to dance seems to be a bit difficult for my favourite mad scientist... The friend I drew this for also saw some romantic undertones in between these two when he saw the musical live – so I hope he likes the drawing! (If you're intrigued about the ship, maybe also check out my comic about them.)

Yep! It's actually my number one favourite musical at the moment - or at least the Finnish production is. Such a fascinating, tragic tale!

Have you heard Anthony Warlow? He was the first person I heard sing it. I fell in love immediately. I've heard the Korean cast ...never the Finnish. It's good in any language probably

Anthony Warlow is fantastic in the role! The concept album with him is one of my favourite J&H albums, his version of Alive especially... It's such a shame he hasn't played the role onstage, I feel he would be absolutely fantastic.

I think I've only seen one video with the Korean cast... Are there any good clips or songs available on Youtube, I'd be curious to see more? As for the Finnish cast, there are only a couple of clips available... Here's audio of our Facade (or "Naamio"): www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYxC3H…
