 It was a dark and eerie night in San Diego. Kelsey made her way across campus to her apartment. She looked around nervously, but kept her cool. Suddenly, someone stepped out of the shadows into the path in front of her. Kelsey breathed a sigh of relief when she saw who it was. "Jack, you scared me!"  Kelsey exclaimed. "What do you want?" I try to call you, But you never seem to be home. I go to the places we used to go, And you're not there. I ask you friends where you are, But they say you haven't been around since we broke up. When I call out your name at night, You don't seem to answer anymore. And when I reach out to touch you, All I touch is air. I need you so much, But you're never there. How I wish I could have you in my arms again, And be able to tell you how much I love you.

I feel like I've lost myself, on the path to finding happiness. Life's tugging me in so many directions, my sanity has slipped away from me again. Like the loner that doesn't fit in, I walk alone with my misery. The pain in my heart numbs me to all other emotions, it consumes me day by day. Nothing ever seems to be enough, in this bottomless pit of wants and needs called life. I wish I felt loved, but every touch is tainted. I did everything I could to make everyone else happy, and I've lost myself along the way.
