Ragnar
There was a disturbance at the mouth of the den, a wolf nervously entered the symbol of a servant painted clear as day on his head, gaze focused on the ground. "Thane, the Jarl wishes to see you." He spoke softly before retreating from Ragnar's den, followed by a fiery gaze.
The brute stood and shook off his pelt, before glancing off into the deepest, darkest part of the den the shadows submerging the she-wolf and all that was visible was a defiant pair of glowing jade eyes. Ragnar was looking forward to breaking her, she couldn't be left alone not yet.
"Come. I have business to tend to." His deep gravelly voice summoned his newly acquired servant forward before he set off and led her into the opening of the densite, looking around for prying eyes and then setting off to the meeting site.
Tordis
A burning gaze of hatred focused on the back of her Master, trailing after him and out into the open. One day she will show them that she was not a weakling to be bossed around and abused. No, she refused to be her parents. Bruised limbs already ached from the training she had carried out hours before dawn, and tiredness threatened to bring her down further, but Tordis was strong.
At least now she'd get close to the Jarl. See and hear him in close range. He was her target afterall.
There wasn't much behind his reasoning to see his brother, but a simple feast. Of course there were more important things to talk about, but it wasn't the main reason.
He had some of his servants drag a downtaken elk to the meeting site Ragnor and he had claimed as 'their spot' then sent them back to tell Ragnar he was needed.
Knowing that it would take a short while for him to show up, Agaut kept himself busy with breaking the elk's antlers from it's head for later use, settling down on a smaller boulder when he was done.
Ragnar
"So tell me Tordis, where were you this morning?" Ragnar smirked when he was met with silence, glancing over his shoulder at the brooding female. With a shrug he continued their journey until they emerged at the spot where he met his brother.
"Jarl Agaut!" Ragnar grinned upon seeing his brother trotting forward eagerly to greet him stopping short from the boulder. He turned and glared at Tordis. "Show your Jarl some respect!" He growled threateningly until she at last, reluctantly dropped her head. "Anything interesting happen?" He finally returned his attention towards Agaut.
After a while the forest's silence was disturbed by the sound of pawsteps of two wolves. The grey male rose his head, ears perking, until in the end the form of Ragnar came into view. Followed by a dark coated she-wolf with the sign of a Servant on her forehead. "Brother."
Agaut rose a brow after the female finally dipped her head upon order. "See you got yourself another one- always picking the difficult ones." He said, returning his gaze to his Thane. "Nothing aside from a rebelling bag of bone." Agaut explained with a shake of his head, referring to a Thrall, before he rose to his paws and leaped down the boulder.
Ragnar
The large male smirked proudly glancing over his new female. "There is much fun in breaking their spirit brother. This one will be a challenge, and she's pretty too, a bonus."Ragnar didn't miss the slight crinkling of Tordis's muzzle, a baring fang but for now he ignored it.
"I see you caught some dinner." With a flick of his tail he turned and approached the carcass before sitting down to patiently wait for Agaut to start. "You know, I've been thinking of finding a female to birth me some sons." He spoke casually placing a paw on the deers hide.
Tordis
The discreet comments from both males caused her blood to boil, barely swallowing the growl that crept up her throat. Bide your time. She thought patiently showing restraint even though it was difficult.
When both males turned away, Tordis finally looked up and dared stare directly at the pair not that they could see with their backs turned. The power and prowess that both brothers showed only served to fuel her anger more. With an agitated swish of her tail, she flopped down onto the grass at a distance and stared at the carcass hungrily. She'd be lucky if they offered her any scraps.
Agaut once again turned his gaze to the dark coated female, scanning her from head to toe while Ragnar spoke. "Certainly a good catch. Only needs to learn some manners." He stated, shortly running his tongue over his lips. His ears flicked when Ragnar turned to the kill a few steps away, "So I did." Agaut answered, finally turning away from Tordis and walking up to the carcass.
"You and parenting." The Jarl snorted before starting to open up the elk. "Sons with her attitude would make fine Thanes though." Agaut stated after a short moment of silence,"But of course you're all free to choose from what the clan has to offer."
Ragnar
"I'd make a great father!" Ragnar announced proudly ruffling his fur. "I'd train them to be warriors." Once Agaut started, so did he yanking the fur roughly from the corpse to get at the juicy meat. "It is possible she could bare strong Thanes, but she is from a line of servants." He pointed out, not too keen on the idea. "I've got my eye on the Valkyries."The female warriors of the pack, the ones that had proved themselves to be worthy mothers.
His tail flicked as he gorged himself on the deer before him whilst considering the future of the pack and his own. The kinship between the two brothers were strong but even Agaut needed an heir one day. "What about you? Have you considered settling down?"
"Of course you would." Agaut murmured with a grin before he finally broke the skin of the elk and got to the parts he was looking for. His tail only flicked upon Ragnar's word, "The choice is all yours brother."
Agaut snorted slightly, "You know I am not the type to settle down." He shook his head, before pulling his lips into a slight grin, his tail swaying slightly, "I'll leave my future heirs up to an accident." He explained, "Unlike you, I don't bear the talent to parent." Not that he had ever tried.
Ragnar
A snort left the Thane followed by a series of crunching and cracking sounds, working towards chewing off one of the hind legs, Ragnar's favorite part. Soon all that was left was shredded skin barely holding the leg attached. One sharp pull and he tore the leg free for him to feast upon.
"I'm sure the heirs will grow in strength with or without your guidance. Your blood will run through their veins after all." He settled down on a patch of grass, the hind snugly trapped between his fore paws. "I will still indulge in other females, but nothing for more than a bit of fun." He smirked.
Tordis
Their idle chit chat was boring to say the least, having hoped to pick up more juicey information from the Jarl. Her gaze flicked between the two males before once again focusing on the carcass, her stomach letting out an obnoxious growl of complaint. Involuntarily Tordis had started to inch forward, a little closer towards them or rather the food that was tempting her.
Finally having opened the carcass Agaut dove in, the elk's blood coating his white snout. The Jarl flicked his tail, "Ain't it all about that." He pulled his lips into a crooked smile between two bites.
His pointy ears twitched upon the sound of nearby movement and Agaut turned his blue gaze back to the servant, who by now obviously was closer to them than before.
Did this she-wolf live under a rock or is she just really ignoring the rules and strict hierarchy of this clan this much? Agaut furrowed his brows, drawing his lips back for a moment. "Stay at your place, servant!" He growled before returning to the spot he had opened.
Tordis
The female hadn't noticed she'd been spotted, or rather she didn't care as the demands of her hunger grew. That was until Agaut growled her way, causing Tordis to flinch for a moment, and then her anger ignited in frustration.
"No." She snapped back, pulling herself up to her feet glaring at the Jarl's back. "I want some food."
He was definitely surprised when she snapped back at him. It's not an everyday thing that someone dares to talk back at him like this, let alone a servant, let alone a lass. And it was definitely something he was not tolerating at all.
A growl rumbled in his throat as he turned around to face her, "Who do you think you are here!?" He snarled taking a step toward her, hackles rose high in the air, "Know your place before I put you back where you belong!"
Ragnar
He smirked, watching the scene unfold before him with deep amusement, afterall not many would dare challenge the Jarl's authority and get away unscathed, and more often than not blood was spilled. So Ragnar stayed were he was whilst his sadistic hunger kept his gaze fixated on the scene.
Tordis
She almost fell back onto her haunches when the male stood, his hackles making him look larger, much bigger than her and yet her defiance refused to let her be a coward and submit. Not to him, not to anyone.
"I am a living, breathing being!" Tordis' upper lip curled, snarling her fangs at Agaut. "And I should be treated as such! With respect! I am not your damn slave and I refuse to be treated as such!." Her ears flicked upwards as she bravely, or foolishly stood her ground meeting the Jarl's gaze stubbornly.
His icy blue eyes narrowed as she got braver, going as far as raising her voice at him, despite having looked startled for a moment. He had warned her, clearly and understandably, and there was no second warning. Her words were enough for the brute male to snap.
Stepping up to her Agaut went to push the she-wolf down to the ground and pin her with force, "I said, know your place!" He growled, "No one gives a damn! You're living for nothing but to serve and do what you're told to do. Learn your place, or you can join the Thralls."
Tordis
She only had mere moments to brace, and struggle against his force until her legs buckled under the males strength falling to the ground under his weight. Tordis' nose crinkled in a silent snarl until his words caused her to free with a sense of panic and disbelief.
Being a thrall was much worse, it was rare for them to climb ranks let alone survive throughout servitude. They were treated worse than dirt. Even though his words made her blood boil, she knew when to back down, for now. There was always next time. Lowering her ears and tucking her tail Tordis averted her gaze although she couldn't hold back the look of contempt.
"Ain't that difficult." The grey male grumbled when the she-wolf finally received the message and submitted.
Stepping back Agaut glared down at her a last time before turning away with a snort, walking back to the carcass to continue where he had been disturbed, completely ignoring the she-wolf's presence, leaving her up to Ragnar if she decides to talk up again.
Tordis
Maybe you should try being a servant! Tordis thought bitterly but managed to keep her mouth shut, getting off the floor when he had turned away. She shook off her pelt and turned her back on the pair, proceeding to walk away and leave them to it.
Ragnar
The brute was both disappointed and relieved that Agaut hadn't attacked her, afterall he liked his servants pretty. "Where are you going?" He watched as she paused.
"May I be excused?" She finally asked begrudgingly, only met with a long silence.
"Yes, but I want you back at the den before I, understood?" She nodded stiffly before disappearing into the neighbouring woods.
"She's definitely gonna be a fun challenge." Ragnar muttered to Agaut returning back to his meal after the small drama.
He turned his head to Ragnar once the she-wolf disappeared in the woods, nodding his head. "The name?" Agaut asked, "Make sure to keep an eye on what she does. The wolves like her are who start an uprising. And it would be a shame to have to get rid of the rebelling servants." The Jarl stated after running his tongue over his blood stained lips. He too was going to keep an extra eye on the dark coated lass after this little fit she had thrown.
Ragnar
"Name?" He questioned, actually having to think about it. "I believe her name is Tordis from what I remember." What Agaut spoke of was true, there had been uprisings in the past, but all attempts had failed and the rebels disposed of. Last thing Ragnar wanted to do was cause another. "I'll be sure to keep an eye on her. The mother had kept her hidden for some time, it was by chance I caught sight of her, so she'll need extra training. I'll entrust her to one of my faithful servants."
He nodded his head slightly when Ragnar told him her name, turning his gaze to his brother as he continued to speak. For a moment he rose a brow, learning that Tordis' mother had managed to keep her hidden somehow. "A fool." He murmured, not fond of the she-wolf's action. "Is she still around? Or fled with the rest?"
Ragnar
The Thane huffed at the reminder of the escaping rebels. A failure that was sure not to happen again. "She fled with everyone else." Ragnar's gaze narrowed as a sickening smile spread across his maw. "But not before she was punished. That female will bare her scars for the world to see." It was a miracle she had even survived.
"Good." Agaut said, "And next time I want to know about things like this." He stated before turning back to the kill. "Right away." The Jarl added, putting a closure on the topic.
Ragnar
Ragnar's expression became serious in response to Agauts tone. "Of course Jarl." He nodded respectfully lightly bowing his head before focusing his attention back to the feast before them.
