Hello again, Starborns!
Spring is always a good time to reinvent yourself, and as such, we’ve decided to change up some stuff in SA. Our reference bases seem so… Empty, and uninformative. Wouldn’t it be better if they were more like actual character sheets?
If you answered “yes”, then awesome! Because that’s the direction we’re taking, with some good old dice rolling thrown in to make all your gameplay experiences more thrilling. April 1st is just the best day for launching this huge change in how the game works. We’re not fooling around, you know! Just check out our awesome new ref base!
Starborn Alignment RPG
As you can see, our new reference includes a lot more info! We also overhauled the stat system while we're at it. For some of you this whole thing might look a bit familiar… A bit Dungeons and Dragons, maybe a bit Pathfinder, with a touch of Fallout? Yeah, well, what can we say. Why meddle with a good concept? With this change, you can now show all the important stuff about your character at once! We even left a little space for a few special attacks or skills, just to make combat work out better.
Instructions on how to fill the base are available in the artist description of the reference!

Excellent! Now you’re ready to partake in the forum games, where you’ll notice a new area has been set up for you in the Special Events category. We’ve also set up a channel on our discord called LFG (=Looking For Group), where you can organize groups and go on grand adventures in this new Hireath!Since this is all new, please consider all of these games OOC. This means you can do stuff that’s not usually possible, like fight giant monsters (even ones that don’t exist in Hireath), have implausible party compositions from all around the continents, and die in the game, without any permanent consequences! The only thing that’s off the table is using other people’s characters, so please stick to your own. This includes the gods. <3
You can use your stats as a guideline to solve encounters, or if you’re a bit more experienced, bring in your dice to have a really wild time! If you want, you can mark your thread title with GW! (God’s Welcome) to potentially get a drop in from an admin, whether in the form of a totally fair DM encounter, or a god popping in to say hi.
This is an excellent opportunity to meet characters and players you usually wouldn’t, so don’t be shy - just jump in!
There’s no limit to the amount of games you can be in!

What are the rewards? Where do I submit my beautiful new reference?
Please submit your character’s reference to the April References 2020 folder, found under Mini Events. Since it’s your character’s reference, it does need art! Any artwork for the reference will earn normal AP, and you’re free to either draw a brand new image (thus earning AP) or to re-use an existing picture of the character for the meme (thus earning no AP). For this event, you can draw your character with any outfit you like, although you will only gain AP for the outfit if you own the items.
To encourage people to adapt to this new and exciting gameplay opportunity, you will receive 15CS, redeemable for two characters per user. You can also redeem 20FVR once per user when you fill in your first reference.
Additionally, once you have your reference set up and head to the forums, each post you make that’s over 175 words will earn you 2AP, 2CS (but no regular literature AP). These rewards will be confirmed at the end of the event by an admin for each thread. Make sure to post all your games in the correct place!
You have until 11.59PM PST on April 19th to submit your work and earn these bonuses, so don’t tarry!
RP threads may be played for rewards until 11.59PM PST on April 26th!!

The “Fantasy RPG reference” will be released as a regular meme (with different rewards + requirement for original art) after the event ends.
