“More books?” Rosie asked with a sigh as her eldest son walked through the door. She was just about to continue, but noticed he hadn’t even heard her. Looking even more lost in his thoughts than he was that morning, Ian continued through the kitchen and towards his room; a small warm smile on his usually distant face.
“Ian, is everything all right?” Rosie called after him. Setting down the wet dish, she followed him into the hallway, curious to know what was going on.
“Huh,” he paused and looked back at her “Did you say something mom?”
Dumbfounded, she stood and stared. Suddenly feeling unable to form any words. Did he just say; “mom”? Trying to shake away the thought she decided to head back to the kitchen.
