So, it turns out I'm in the process of hand-sewing a 13th-century-style cotte in 7.1 oz natural linen. So far, I've done up the neck line and one very tricky sleeve piece with an integrated gusset - the latter was certainly a challenge, but I managed to sew it more than to my liking. My hemming/seam skills aren't perfect yet, but then again, I've only been doing sewing of any sort for about a year, and quite sparsely until fairly recently. In future months, expect to see progress photos of my garment! After that's finished, I want to work on building some steel lamellar to put over my maille. I'll have a TON of time to do this after my final

Gah, it's been a hectic first semester! So much work has been done by yours truly these past few months, with regards to writings papers, reading, and doing tons of research.

College has been quite interesting so far, and my social life has not been this vivacious since summer camp, years and years ago... yet it still irks me that there are still few people here that share my interests. (though my roommate is almost as much an enthusiast as me in this stuff) Anyways. I have decided that I am going to be drawing more sword designs as of lately, mostly to pass the time. My acrylic/wool thread recently arrived, so I shall teach myself to tablet weave soon. I don't know how well it will turn out the first few times around, but I will not give up.
