It was about 3:30 in the morning that the little caramel filly was born. Or perhaps, big filly would be better said, as the newborn turned out to the biggest of the season!

Cara foaled her smoothly, (despite the size) and Emily hardly had to help out. Making sure the little foal had clear airways before letting mom get to her thorough cleaning of her new baby. She was truly as champagne as her dam, and as dun as her sire~

It wasn't until later in the morning that the vets managed to come by to do a check up. But there hadn't been a need to rush anyhow, as the baby was well on her feet, feasting away on her mothers milk. Healthy and happy, although still a bit folded up and wobbly. And with Emily's veterinarian expertise, the little (big) filly was in good hands.
