Description
my second dragon of the three, and I've got very mixed feeling on this one. the pose is one of my favorites of them all, but I couldn't figure out what to do with the wings, as you can see. and then the glaze kiln sent me another "eff you" and turned what was supposed to be rich red and mottled brown/blue into this really weird mix of brownish shades. the camera did not help, of course, so it all looks rather bizarre. and yes, the back of the dragon has no blue whatsoever for some reason, it is just straight brown.
but still, I cant help but love it. if you spend that long on something that you have built from the ground up, you would feel the same way. I still remember how I had to keep shrinking the arms because they were to big, how I had to keep moving the tail around, how I drove myself insane with trying to make the wings symmetrical, and tearing the frill off again and again because it wasn't right. (I made it by pinching a long tube of clay btw. I later had to sand it down after the first firing, as it could actually cut you.)
for some reason, this dragon feels very feminine to me. how bout you?
