Sisters of Second Sight: The Birth of Prophecy - Repaint

"The First Sister is at unease. She has seen a glimpse of some shadow future and knows there is nothing she can do to stop it. The Second Sister is at peace. She welcomes change, and realizes nothing is certain."

There is more of a story here, but since I have no interest in following it, I allowed my friends :iconzeektheass: and :icondragonchild: to use The Sisters for the role playing game they have been so busily creating. Zach did a quick repaint so The Sisters would better fit the game (and they have become twin Goddesses...fitting I think), and after seeing the color change, I knew I had to do an official repaint.
When I finished this piece, I knew something was missing, but I was too tired of looking at it to determine just what. Now, the false symmetry that your eye saw before is broken, and all the little details and asymmetry are apparent. It also only took me about 20 minutes to fix :D

This will probably be the third time I thank Zach for helping me see how much better a color change made this piece. I guess he'll just have to deal with that ;).

So, thank you :iconzeektheass: :XD:

Just out of curiosity, what alphabet did you use in the background?

Thank you!
The alphabet is my own creation. I pulled from The Necronomicon, Tolkien's elvish script, and a few other rune alphabets that I found online. I wanted to create something that looked legit without looking too much like something that already exists :D
I've had a lot of people ask me what it says, so I guess it worked ;) The only problem is, I honestly have no idea what could be written there lol.

Interesting:) I thought I recognized Tolkien in there. May I ask what version of the Necronomicon?
If you ever do intentionally weave a message in your work, maybe you should never tell. Though most people will just pass it by, there are a few who will go nuts trying to figure it out. It's kind of what I'm aiming for in my own work. It's a fun tradition. :D

I honestly am not sure what version this one is. It was printed in 1980 and looks pretty basic, black cover, nothing fancy.

And I agree. Every artist has a little potential for mischief, and sometimes it's good to play that up. :D

Sounds like the "Simon Edition" - by far the best one. That one has been scaring people for years, even though you can get it at any Waldenbooks. Have to look at your work again and thumb through the text.

Yeh, mischief = magic, in my world.

These guys are the masters of coded expressions:D

How spectacular...so beautifully conceived and wonderfully rendered. It's very memorable, as it seems to ignite the mind with it's power and drama.
