JJBA Fan-Stands: Wonderwall

Continuing my work on my Kingdom fanpart with the part's JoJo and his Stand, 「Wonderwall」. I found it quite difficult to come up with ideas for an Araki 'main hero' character that didn't make him seem too villainous but hopefully he ended up reasonably distinct from either Jotaro or Josuke. I ended up working with a James Dean theme, with Wonderwall having elements of a muscle car, Westerns and Robocop.

Quite a few of my designs for this part have had the 'inner part' vs 'outer part' theme - in this case the straps almost seem to be the meat of the Stand, encased in blue armor. I tried a more humanoid head but to be honest the crazy motor exhaust cyclops thing works a lot better.

My view is generally that the most successful parts have had a main character with a Stand with clearly defined but not overpowered abilities who needs to learn how to use it in creative ways. As such, I was quite pleased with the idea for Wonderwall - while it's also an able punch-ghost, its ability to change the visual properties of a surface by touching it lead to some potential for crazy visuals and tactical optical illusions.
