The sun was shining high overhead, but the air was bitingly cold as Clay glided over the snow covered ground, keeping high in the air. Her large ears flapped about in the freezing air, and her breath caused tiny clouds of steam to appear every time she exhaled. Despite the bitter cold, Clay seemed relatively untroubled by it. She knew the best way to keep out the cold was to keep moving. You never felt as cold if you were active, and she was always active except for when she was asleep. In order to keep her busy, she’d been tasked with collecting plants. Well, more specifically she was looking for trees. She couldn’t really remember what the leaves and bark were wanted for, or even what they’d told her the name was, but she’d seen a picture sketched out in a book, and that was enough for her to go on. As she neared the trees, Clay began to tip forward into a dive, her tattoo wings tucking in as she zoomed down at a startling speed. Perhaps she was going a bit too fast
