A new area called "TODAY" launches on deviantART - *ahem* - today. It provides a central location for activities that have taken place over the last 24 hours on deviantART.
On a daily basis you can see the mood of the community, the most popular and most active deviants of the day, featured galleries, featured deviants, news headlines, popular journals, most active forum threads, etc. all from one central location!
Click the Today link from the navigation menu to see this exciting new feature!
Props to syragon for the implementation.
Update
Already noticing the amount of comments on the Hot Topic regarding concern about how the Popular Deviants and Active Deviants are calculated, I would like to make some clarifications. Popular deviants are not the deviants with the most pageviews. There is a metric of calculation that cannot be achieved by trying to beat the system. The Popular Deviants are simply a sub-group of some of the people who received the most recognition yesterday - they are not the most popular people yesterday. Regarding active deviants, there is a metric in place here as well, and it may be extended to include the average comment ratings users receive.
