Ever get an idea that just has to be made before you can ever rest?... This is one of those pieces...

5 months ago I got dumped...  I was with this girl for 3 years... She studies Japanese and I had learned a lot along with her in those 3 years, having gone with her to many Japanese events and festivals...  At one I saw a Japanese artisan creating wire bonsai trees.  I had an idea before she left me to create her a desk-top zen garden...  But she dumped me before I ever started the project.  Her birthday was coming up and I couldn't get this idea out of my head...  I have been snowed in for the last week...  I was going stir crazy so I just finally made it to get it out and move on in some way.

The inscription reads: "Arata na hajimari"  "新たな始まり" translated to "A new beginning"

For to create the zen garden's patterns you must first reset the sand, smoothing it out and starting new....

"For every end there is a new beginning.  Like the sand, our lives are easily changed... but love is a rock that is not as easily weathered."

Despite the way she treated me in the end, and how quickly she moved on... I can't seem to shake what I felt for her.  Completing this project was a step towards moving on, and I look forward to continuing this new art form in the wire trees...
