The stairs creaked as Hubert made his way up and toward the bedrooms, Tika’s bedroom, to be more specific. He and his wife, Eleanor, were concerned for her when she came back home a few days ago in tears. She had told them that she had found her wingull, but the bird had chosen a new owner. This, along with failing her written exam for the police cadets, had made Tika so depressed she hadn’t left her room much at all, only when she needed to eat or go to the bathroom. Knock, Knock.
