When you help to spread awareness of issues, you are making a difference in the lives of others!

Welcome! (Please read the message below in its entirety. Thanks.)
This group is not as much about getting attention for your art as it is about spreading the awareness of topics such as mental health, depression, suicide risk, cancer, AIDS, child abuse, hunger, and other issues with which mankind struggles. We want to highlight the many resources out there which can provide help, but which also often need help from us in order to help those in need. Art is a PART of this effort, but this group does not exist to be "just another deviation receptacle".
We strongly encourage members to talk amongst ourselves about these important issues, and what might be done to alleviate pain and suffering, to bring about improvement in the lives of people around the world. We ask you to put information in your artist's comments, because YOU can help to spread the word about the resources available for people who are suffering.
Art makes a statement, yes - but your words can lead someone down a path of discovery. We don't accept simple images of self harm, we want to see links to articles, websites, and groups dedicated to helping people who are suffering, or explaining misconceptions about what the syndrome, disease, disorder, or event actually is like.
We're
NOT a political group. We're here primarily to help people cope with illnesses and abuses, and to help people find resources and additional information regarding the personal medical and emotional issues they face.
We're not a group that accepts just any deviation, we're a group that wants to spread awareness about the pain and suffering people are dealing with, how to cope with it, and what we can do to as members of society to help make the world a better place!
Any member may submit journals for consideration, as long as they fit the group's theme and purpose*.
*All content submitted will be quickly reviewed for relativity prior to acceptance. Thank you. - Michael
Whether someone you know has been stricken by disease or you know of a child who has gone missing, this is a place to spread the word. Create art. Spread the word amongst people here on deviantART and anywhere else you go online and out amongst the people.
