A Few Rules/Guidelines....

- Tracing, gridding and references ARE totally allowed, just give proper credit!
- Artwork must be original and YOURS. Commissions will not be accepted for this competition
- Collabs are allowed and encouraged! It's up to the collabers to determine who gets what prizes should the entry place.
- Horses entered can be owned by you or leased!
- Animals must be an appropriate age for ridden events, and any age for Halter, Liberty, and Dance/Trick

Weather Information

This show will be hosted on Raven's Crown's property in Las Vegas, Nevada. Temperatures tend to run high, but we're hoping this spring brings milder weather.
We expect almost completely clear skies, a little wind, and plenty of gorgeous sunsets! High temperatures are forecasted to be 87 degrees Fahrenheit (30.5 Celcius) during
late morning/early afternoon hours, with cooler temps giving relief in the morning, late afternoon, and evening, when classes will be in full swing.
All facilities are equipped with industrial fans to keep horses and competitiors cool, and water stations and troughs are scattered across the property to help keep everyone hydrated.

Classes:

Dressage:

Held in the MAGNOLIA ARENA in the morning.
All skill levels welcome! Show your horse's most elegant moves and the harmony between horse and rider!
All horses should be wearing appropriate dressage tack, saddle pad colors other than white permitted. Double bridles allowed for advanced horses.
Manes should be neatly braided, tail presentation up to entrant. Whips, spurs, and double bridles allowed but not to be used.
Riders are not required to wear jackets due to potential heat risks, but should at least wear a long sleeve white dress shirt, white or tan breeches, and riding boots
Arena will be lined with low, white dressage fencing decorated with roses, ribbons in red, gold, and black, and small pots of cacti and succulents.
This is a freestyle class, any movements will be permitted (including haute ecole)

Show Jumping:

Held in OUTDOOR ARENA during late afternoon and early evening.
All skill levels welcome! Horses should tackle jumps at their appropriate level. (All jumps can be modified for various heights)
Mane and tail should be neat. Leg protection required, martingales optional.
Helmets required for all riders. Tack can be any color.
Arena fencing is decorated with red and gold ribbons, roses, and sponsor banners.
COURSE -  Jumps are up to you to design, but should be desert/nature themed

Cross-Country:

Held on the Raven's Crown Equestrian Property and Surrounds during late afternoon into early evening.
Entry can show any part of the course, including the desert part of the track, crossing through the mountain passes, etc. Get creative!
There may be animals along the way, so keep an eye out and keep a respectful distance. There will also be the possibility of loose and falling rocks on the mountainous part of the course,
so we advise you to slow down and mind your mount's footing! There will be natural and man-made obstacles. Leg and body protection required!
Riders should be wearing helmets and reflective brightly colored safety vests.
COURSE - Obstacles are up to you to design, but should be desert/nature themed or natural (like slopes)

Reining:

Held in the INDOOR ARENA in the late afternoon/early evening. The arena will be lit if class runs into the evening.
Arena is decorated with red, black, and gold ribbons, and pots of cacti and succulents.
Any pattern and movements permitted - this is a freestyle class, have fun with it!
Horse must be wearing proper western tack and protective gear, such as splint boots or wraps.
Rider should be in formal attire, longsleeve dress shirt, and boots.

Barrel Racing:

Held in OUTDOOR ARENA in the morning.
Barrels are tin, colored with red, gold, and black, with RCE logo.
Horse must be wearing proper western tack and protective gear, such as splint boots or wraps and breast collars are highly encouraged.
Rider should be in formal attire, long sleeve dress shirt, and boots.

Trail:

Held in the MAGNOLIA ARENA during early afternoon.
The clearing will be completely open, no fencing wil be placed.
Rider should wear comfortable clothing, and horse should be in rider's choice of tack.
Helmets and leg protection for horse and rider encouraged.
Obstacles are up to you!

Halter:

Held in the MAGNOLIA ARENA during sunset.
Arena will be lined with low, white dressage fencing decorated with roses, ribbons in red, gold, and black, and small pots of cacti and succulents.
Horses should have neat mane and tail (braids preferred), and must wear a halter and a lead (other tack not necessary).
Halter can be any type, including breed-specific, and decorated. Stallions and older horses encouraged to wear a bridle.
Handlers, if shown, can wear semi-formal to formal attire.
All ages welcome!

Liberty:

Let your horse show of their wild or lazy side in our  INDOOR ARENA  in the morning, shortly after sunrise.
Arena is decorated with red, black, and gold ribbons, and pots of cacti and succulents.
No tack necessary! Music would be awesome but also not required!
All ages welcome!

Dance/Trick:

Held in the  INDOOR ARENA  in the evening. Horse and handler will be followed by a spotlight. Arena is decorated with red, black, and gold ribbons, and pots of cacti and succulents.
A specialty of Raven's Crown's beloved Capilloque horse breed, dance is a combination of art and communication between handler and horse, in a choreographed presentation.
Horse can be at liberty or on a lead. Costume and music are a must!
Examples: Flying Snowflake FairyCounting Stars, Albus ChoroThe Player's Debut

Desert Photo Scavenger Hunt:

Don't worry, we haven't buried anything six feet below in the sand! Instead, you'll find natural things that occur in the desert.
You can travel with one horse and rider or as a team of multiple horse and rider pairs (collabs encouraged!)
You will search for the items listed below and photograph them (also feel free to photograph our scenery and horses).
Be careful on your journey, there are a few dangers lurking in the sands! Bring plenty of water and watch out for prickly cacti!
Class will run in the morning, teams will be served lunch and take a break around noon, and the class will resume in the late afternoon, if needed.

Your entry must include two parts: an image showing your team(s) trek through the desert, and at least one of the "photographs"
your team has taken(pairs/collabs should show one photograph for eah pair in the team).

Here's what you'll all be looking for! Some things will be harder to find than others!

- Rattlesnake (but don't get too close!)
- Scorpion (also keep your distance!)
- Burrowing Owl
- Hummingbird
- Roadrunner
- Abigail's white crow, Siren (Ref coming soon)
