A probable solution to commission chargebacks.
Artists who create commissions know one caveat with accepting PayPal: their Seller Protection doesn't cover services, so they can and will be SOL if the buyer decides to dispute the transaction. While Buyer Protection doesn't cover services either, PayPal is notorious for ruling in the favor of the buyer, so the seller needs to look into other ways of protecting themselves. Which leads to our discussion here, of how we can leverage Seller Protection to ensure scamming buyers can't run off with the money after the service is completed -- by converting your commission service into a tangible product.   EDIT: Deadline Extended! Greetings everyone, This might be good news for some of you guys and I hope it’s not a bad one for others. Starting next week, I’ll be on vacation for two weeks. During that time, though I will still be available online if I am needed, I have made some plans regarding my finances towards commissions, summer activities, projects, etc. And unfortunately, I had to pay some things that couldn’t wait. Also when I come back from my vacation, I’ll probably be flat-out broke as well and it will take 2-3 weeks before I can remake some money to provide to my needed expenses. And I’d like to h

Today it was brought to my attention that a website:

www.art4love.com

has been selling artwork, over priced claiming it to be "high quality liquid oil base" artwork printed on canvas.

The descriptions read as follows:
"This canvas art was created using high-quality liquid oil-base to produce a vivid and detailed work of art. This wall art has a unique style that is sure to bring many admirers."

"This UV coated canvas art has been museum-wrapped around 1.5 inch wood stretcher bars, and finished with hand-painted black edges.

This is remarkable wall art with exceptional use of color and detail.

Painting comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Art4Love.com guarantees that all of our paintings are carefully stretched, and gallery wrapped using the highest quality cotton canvas available. You can rest assured that your painting will arrive in perfect condition and ready to hang on your wall using nothing more than a simple nail or hanging tack."

Even though some of the stolen pieces clearly were created via the computer.

I urge the community to come together to spread the news to make all artists aware of this website and report it if they see their artwork on their without having given any permission to do so.

Please spread the news, here, tumblr, facebook. Anywhere so we can stop this from going on any further.

How dare he do anything like this...
Didn't he know that he would be caught?
If he has no proof of his own (I highly, seriously doubt it), he's an idiot! A complete idiot.

Next time you see him, he will be a head mounted on my wall in a picture on the deviantart homepage!

I haven't read too much into this, but one thing is for certain: This scum must be taken down.

I hope that he gets his - and I'm putting this nicely - butt jailed and sued for all that he has. So long as many work to take this trash of a man (company, or whatever) I'm certain that in the future justice will be found.

I don't have a gallery worth theiving, but it angers me beyond -compare- that someone out there is doing such a thing.

So who owns the company? and why does it say it's based in malaysia? I thought it was based in Florida or New york lol I'm confused now.

I know it's rather confusing. Here is a link to the SEC that will explain
alot. It's just a matter of reading through the finanical form.

Here is a link to the SEC for the filing period June 30, 2011.
