If Time Could...
If Time could communicate what would IT sound like?
Maybe IT'll tell you, you went too fast
Or maybe you started too slow
Maybe Time would speak to you
Or your past
Or your future
How would you know?
Maybe Time does speak to us
Or maybe IT doesn't need to
IT can tell us to speed up
Or to slow down
Maybe I did too much
Maybe I didn't do enough
Maybe everything is perfect
Maybe tomorrow it's not
Maybe today sucks
Maybe we find that today sucking led to tomorrow's amazement
But maybe just maybe everything will make sense tomorrow
Now is not the right time
I need time
Maybe next time is my time
Does Time communicate through maybe's
Maybe Time can speak to me
IT can tell me about not now
Or precisely now
Time can hide in shadows
IT can boast like the sun
IT can slow down
IT can fly by
Maybe Time adapts/changes like water
I can definitely drown in Time
I can manipulate Time in my own way
I can get faster or slower
I can wait or not wait
But does Time really change

Today is hard
That marathon or half, 10k, 5k,1500m, 800m, 400m, 200m, or 100m is not gruesome
Today is gruesome
Race day isn't demanding
Today is demanding
Race day is light work
Today is horribly heavy
Tonight struggle to get to bed
Race day, a routine goodnight drill
Training is everyday
Race day, one day
No rest before practice
But for THAT day, do so
Today is everyday until the DAY
Through injury, pain,emotional turmoil, and life changing events
Train
Always remember race day
Today is a vague memory
The result doesn't ever matter

I Don't Run
"I don't Run"
I dont call myself a runner often
its growing on me i guess
Weeks go by
Months go by
I started because i wanted to lose lbs
I continued because clothes fit better
I added more run days
I decided to not run alone
Now i dont
I love running with these people
I love coolin with these people
I added more run days so i could
chill with these people more
I trained hard cuz they did
My friends run fast
I hoped one day i could too
My fast friends pushed me so i could spend more time with them
I didn't realize i trained so much
I didn't realize chilling with friends made me faster
I didn't realize i was getting stronger
I didn't realize others wanted to be as fast as me
My friends are still fast
Except now they're faster
I guess I will be too
Training doesn't build a better athlete
Friends build a better u
So i guess they've built a better me
We build better athletes
We get faster
We push boundaries
I won't run my fastest mile
We will run our fastest mile
