I've been photographing for a little over 5 years now. I am self-taught and do this when I have time. I'm a former ballet dancer, now retired, now teaching and choreographing but feeling a hole where a performing career once filled my life. So I took up the camera and it became a canvas of sorts. I do mostly self-portraits because it provides me the most privacy while working and I can quietly develop ideas and see if I cannot make them manifest. Most of the time I fail miserably, but I keep trying. Recently, I was awarded as a semi-finalist in the RAW awards for 2012 in Raleigh, North Carolina, which gave me so much exposure and opportunity. I'm forever grateful for RAW and encourage any artist to use RAW as platform for experience and exposure. They are cool and good peeps and completely helpful!

Thank you so much for taking the time to view my page and I appreciate every favorite and comment greatly!

Is there anyone not completely using AI still? It's beautiful but it mostly looks like the same person is "creating" it. Beautifully blasé. I'm holding out.

Lead and Ash

Last week, on January 3rd, just minutes shy of 7 PM, I lost the queen of my heart. I lost my daughter. It doesn't matter that she was covered in white fur, had a moist brown nose, 4 legs, 4 paws, a wee nub of a tail, and wonderfully flappy ears every bit expressive as any sound she could make or expression of her entire face. She was my fur baby and I loved her more than I love most people--people I am close to. My doggy daughter died of several, fast moving cancers--attacking her liver, spleen, bladder, and lung. Different invaders, different targets, but ending in the same terrible, sad, eviscerating result. The wonder of it all is, when she was diagnosed, the oncologist basically sent us home with her to say goodbye and prepare to say goodbye--this beloved fur baby of ours of 12 wonderful years with her. She who taught me and my husband so much. She who gave us such love even when it probably wasn't even deserved. She loved us both. She loved us individually but she was

Thanks so much for supporting my art here — it means more than I can express.

I’m going through a tough time financially, and right now, every print or download sold on DeviantArt truly helps me keep going.

If there's a piece you've liked or saved before, I'd be incredibly grateful if you considered buying it — even the smallest support helps a lot.

Thanks again for being part of this journey with me.
