For owed art, I will try to follow a two week rule from now on: I will try to finish the picture within two weeks after it has been paid for. Do you think that's a reasonable amount of time? Keep in mind it's a maximum, not a minimum.

Yes, two weeks at most is a reasonable time to wait for owed art

No, the maximum amount of time you can take for it should be shorter. Two weeks would be too long

I think you should be able make it even longer, two weeks are really not that much

I almost always aim to get art done in two weeks as a given. But it's not a hard and fast rule and sometimes art can take me up to 2 months because of how RL is treating me.

don't make rules that could be futz'd up by real life. If you think this rule can't/won't be a problem, go for it!

Yea, I just don't want work to pile up on me too much, you know? If I allow myself to take longer and take more owed art in between I'll end with a huge list stressing me out D:

I picked yes, HOWEVER I think it should take as long as you need it to. Now I don't mean half a year or anything like that, but personally I think the maximum wait time should be a month. It's your choice though.

Yea, maybe so! It's also because I don't want my to do list to pile up on me, so I want to have things done in a timely manner.

Two weeks is a good average, but I feel like an even longer time period is fine, too. I'm normally pretty patient when it comes to waiting on commissions. I don't like making people feel like they're being rushed. However, I know some people who have waited over a year for a single commission. Unless you have a good reason or you're on hiatus, waiting over a year is pretty ridiculous, in my opinion. :/

I try to get my commissions done within a week of payment. Normally this happens just fine unless I get floods of commissions or a drop in motivation. I think the longest a commission has ever taken me was about six months -- only because it was a traditional realism and I had no way of uploading it at the time. I didn't own a camera or printer/scanner and my cellphone took shitty photos.

I voted to say its a reasonable time but personally more than that is fine Id say and really I wouldnt want the artist to push them themselves or potentially rush the art. Still, from an artists perspective, Ive come to the conclusion myself that two weeks is a good goal to prevent work from piling up.

Two weeks sounds like a good idea, but I honestly don't mind how long it would take.  For example, if I paid you for art, I wouldn't mind if I had to wait longer than that.  Lots of people have lives outside of DeviantArt, and are busy with school and such.

Although, if you don't like having a lot of owed art to finish, then I agree that two weeks sounds like an ideal amount of days to finish a request. :)

Yea, I want to stop it from getting out of hand again, so I'm putting limits down :)

I don't mind waiting on art, because I want them to take the time they need, but when I am doing art for others I try to get it done as quickly as I can, but life keeps getting in the way Loki kitty

Yea! 3 days is fast, but I wouldn't always be able to do that due to school and motivation.

When I commission art I always make sure I make it clear that there is no time limit. I understand that people have lives, have other commissions to do, and have priorities. Even if it takes a few months, I'll note the artist from time to time just to make sure they didn't forget, but I'm happy to wait any period of time.
