Do you think supporting homosexuality and being a Christian can co-exist? (Not asking if you are either, or if you WANT them to co-exist, just asking if you think it's possible)

I believe it can. I think that people are just using their religion as an excuse for their ignorance. Last time I checked, God loves everyone.

I am a Christian and I don't really feel comfortable around that stuff, but I don't hate on em either. Thats just me though, Christians should get along with all peoples, it is our way.

Definitely. It also depends on what variation of Christianity you're talking about. If it's one of the stricter variations, I'm not so sure. However, I am a Methodist, which is a branch of Protestant Christianity (at the lenient end of the spectrum). It does say somewhere in there that being gay is "a sin," but it also says being jealous is a sin, so if I like your art and I say I wish I had your talent, you could say something like "omg that is a sin y'all need Jesus"

Also, I believe many many parts of the Old Testament are to be taken metaphorically, not literally, so you can take the lesson out of a story instead of "okay so this guy lived 657.976467 years"

This is all my opinion, like I said, it all depend on how you personally interpret the Bible. In my opinion, I'm no homosexual, but if you are, great for you, just don't go shoving it down people's throats just like plenty of heterosexuals do.

Yea, the Old Testament says you can't touch a woman on her period, or look into her eyes, or eat food prepared by her... or that you can't wear clothes made out of more than one material, or that you can't eat shellfish or hare and other things... xD
I don't know, it's like, people just pick the parts they like and are like "this is outdated" but they decide what they find convenient to be outdated? It's weird.

Yeah, if those things have been acceptable, I don't understand what's so hard to let go about discrimination against homosexuality. It also says to love everyone, which I think trumps any hateful thing like that. Christians who say being gay is wrong and try to use the Bible to back them up are being really contradictory, even hypocritical.

I'm not a religious person, but I do study all kinds.
I understand why both sides might not like the other.
But I hope one day they can leave each other alone. And I do think that times are changing so they're both more understanding and open to the idea/opinions of the other.

But hey humans discriminate dog breeds and even class potatoes on the way they look so it's purely a thing of chance.

I support just about anything as long as you're not hurting anyone or cramming it down my throat.

I'm a gay Christian so I automatically think religion and homosexuality can co-exist ovo
I hate how people twist words in the Bible to bash people based on who they love, because if God truly is who they say He is, He wouldn't punish people based on their sexual orientation.

I am Christian and support homosexuality! My religion doesn't control me, and I am allowed to support what I want and have my own opinion. So I definitely think homosexuals and Christians can co-exist, even though not all of them do.
