As much as I'd love to say landscapes or backgrounds, it's moreso characters for me. I'm working on improving both~

I wish I could say backgrounds too, but alas :XD:

Haha maybe it's due to us not wanting to put too much time and detail into the background so that the detail becomes insignificant or takes the audience's main focus from the character/s~

Hm, I wish I could say that was a legit excuse for me, but... I just really don't know how to do the background, usually. It's not done purposefully :XD:

I really am good at characters, but also not bad at drawing backgrounds ! (fav.me/daf61hd for example)
but I do more the detail when I draw my characters, most of the time my bgs are simple or landscapes drew with my watercolor pen. :"3

Haha yeah :D With digital paintings that's defiantly true!  Backgrounds still take a whole lot of work to make look right though :faint:

I'm much better at backgrounds.

I usually do them first with the intention of inserting the characters/objects later, and I've been known to get bored and just leave them as landscapes or other scenery X'3

The thing is, many ppl used to tell me that I have such a talent in BG's.
But I somehow have no idea to paint any, so I stick to my chars. (Voted for Chars etc.)
Used to imitate the technique my fav artist has got; paining with oil paint on a real canvas. Maybe that's why? Have no idea.

I'm definitely better at characters. I've been making an effort to improve my backgrounds, I'll just sketch all sorts of background elements or props like rocks, trees, etc just so I can get better at those.

Eh, tbh I kinda feel like I suck at both lately? :XD: I'd say it depends on what I'm drawing though? Usually I enjoy drawing the characters more, but I really really like drawing trees for some reason (probably sounds dumb as heck I know but I do :lmao: ) so if the background has a lot of trees in it ahaha

The characters i'm more consistent with in general, backgrounds aren't that great, but i'm working on getting them better and spending alot more time on them then i do characters.
