I wouldn't say i'm scared of heights at all, but i do tend to feel dizzy and like i'm going to fall forwards if there's no railing/low railings and going down steep stairs. Not sure if that counts haha

I can say I'm really afraid of heights, I mean for example, let's say we would be at the edge of a mountain, it has a beautiful scenery, no guard rails involved on that specific mountain, I could look at that view or look down and you wouldn't see me pass out, but I would start shaking and sweating uncontrollably.

The strange thing is that I only fear of heights when I don't have anything solid under my feet AND looking down from great heights. So...if I hopped on a ski-lift with a leg-rest of some sort, I wouldn't have any problems, and would enjoy the sights, and fresh air. But if that leg-rest were missing... that would be giving me the creeps.

I have acrophobia, there's been a couple of times where I've felt light-headed and been physically unable to move because of it (one of these instances was when I was at least a meter or two off the ground on one of those rope tower things) xP but I really love going on planes and having a good view (up a hill, upstairs flat)? I guess in places where I either feel safe or where I'm so high it almost doesn't seem real, if you know what I mean?

Oh, I've also been on a ski lift type thing once to go up a hill in Germany, I was okay coming back down but going up was horrible. I was shaking and felt ill for a good while after I got off at the top xD

I don't /dislike/ heights, and don't mind them; but as soon as I have to do something like high ropes, I freak out and become super shaky, and can't move. I wish I didn't have that reaction, but I honestly can't help it at all. It's really odd too, because I love being in planes and virtually anywhere else high.

I'm fine if I'm only like 5-6 feet off the ground, but any higher than that and I have trouble. I freak if I happen to see out the window on a plane.

I was 23 when I went on a plane the first time. And my sister decided it would be fun to keep opening the window shield to freak me out.

I suffer from the High Place Phenomenon quite often.

It's not the heights that scares me, but sometimes I think about just leaping off and THAT'S what freaks me out. Falling. Not the height itself, but rapidly descending to doom.

Actually, it isn't the same since there is no depth perception 4k above the ground!

I LOVE to climb, cliffs with no harnesses really high and all, but the moment it's a zip-wire, flying or just standing anywhere high-up I feel like I'm about to be thrown extremely high into the sky, I have panic-attacks, feel dizzy, ect. That's even just standing on a hill. Elevators are the WORST though! I've always been terrified of them especially. I become scared just looking at people near the edge of something.

Not to mention I am terrified of looking up at a clear sky. It was boiling today and I was sat under a tree with my friend and we were laid on our backs outside by a tree. Every time I looked up at the sky I dug my nails into the grass.

Yeah, don't really want the police round mine considering I'd be a witness if they fell...

I don't think I'm acrophobic just yet, but I am more scared than the average fear of falling, and my fear is not always reasonable :noes: I get scared in ferris wheels too, and I can't stand watching people at huge heights fffffffff

I'm fine if I'm high and in motion like a roller coaster (I love roller coasters) However, I am kind of terrified if I'm just standing at a high place.

I don't have any trouble driving across or walking across bridges, flying, or or looking out of my 4th floor office window, but really don't like being next to edges, on roofs, or near floor to ceiling windows in high places.  Give me a waist high wall before the window starts and I'm OK.  It' not so much a fear of falling as a fear I'm going to do something stupid. (And, God knows, I've done some pretty stupid things over the years.)

If I am up high and can't get down, I will be afraid. I climbed on the roof once and couldn't get down, until I decided to stop being pathetic, but, it was still scary. Either way, I hate climbing on roofs because I fear they will collapse under my weight (tin ones) and hurt me. It's not the falling part, it's the pain afterwards. I love being high though, climbing trees, going is airplanes, etc.
