Most computers (which due to all we've done to them, phones ARE classified as one) , come with a ton of extra crap that realistically, we'll never/rarely use. In the case of a hand me down or refurbished one, there's crap from the previous owner, or from the technician that restored it. And then, for the typical store-bought ones, the manufacturers/developers think we need/want all this extra junk, and in many cases, they integrate it with the operating system so extensively, or they put tight security restrictions on them, that it is extremely difficult, or even risky, to remove.

In the second scenario, the solutions all tend to involve carefully hacking/modifying the device/system in question. Seeing as they're not designed or intended to do that, there's a risk of screwing stuff up, and I'm pretty sure it can void the warranty. One of the biggest complaints about the Windows operating system starting at Vista, actually has been that the OWNER of the computer has very little control over what it does, because the system locks them out of virtually everything in the interest of "Security". I also have heard talk that Windows 10 has keyloggers built-in. As far as phones are concerned, I can't say a whole lot. I have had friends with iPhones and Androids. I don't have either, I do know there are ways to hack/modify them if you're not satisfied with their intended/default functionality.

Typically most Androids get these, I'm not sure why. But I rooted my Android phone (it's just a random Chinese one) and then removed all those silly apps.

Well! It's a bit tricky, if you don't know or have experience with it!

If you look around, you'll find information about it also. BUT it voids warranty

THE FEELS
Frigging Google+ took up so much memory on my last phone and I couldn't even clear it, I've got an iPhone now which I can't add memory to but it's a 64GB one so hopefully it should do okay xD

I know how you feel Sweating a little...
Besides Google messing with me, there's also Motorola (my cellphone's brand) their phones come with some terrible apps. One of them is nearly useless, you could do anything it does by silencing your phone instead of calibrating the app to silence your phone from 3 pm to 4 pm :grump:

Eugh I know the feel. It's even worse on my iPhone because shit has taken up almost all space and I don't know how to clean it. There's barely any apps on it and just junk taking up so much and no way to get rid of it >_>

You could always try rooting it
And then uninstalling them

But that can brick your phone.

Because Google is a controlling bitch who puts its stuff in your house and don't you dare touch it or not clean it 8)
Stupid space-eating apps are the reason why I went for a phone with an enormous memory, especially after not being able to have more than 3-4 apps on my old one or update them

Google, no
This was not our contract
Why do you do this
That sounds clever B( Mine is secondhand, so I can't really complain about the space hhhh
but it's getting on my nerves especially with the error messages abot apps that I'll never use :stare:

I literally had to disinstall or nuke data on other apps (like Google's) to update a single one and everytime the internal memory space went below 40-20MB (which was far more than what I needed to update anyway) I got annoying notifies about how few space I had, so I know the feel =~=. I'll never regret buying this powerhouse of a phone~

I understand uninstallable things if it is absolutely needed, but not all this stuff that gets updated all the time without my permission so it can eat more space

Yea, I for example never download music on my phone and yet there's all these music apps on there that can't be removed? Whyyyyyyy
Or yea, all those random things I do not need, sobs
Which take up space so that when an app I DO use needs an update, it can't download it because there isn't enough space left B(
