I never wonder what anyone looks like on the internet. I prefer to create in my mind what I think people look like in my mind based on how they are acting on the internet. If they are acting in a way that makes them look beautiful then I imagine them to be so. If they are acting like some sort of troll then that is how I imagine them. I personally hate it when people upload pictures of themselves, but I respect their choice to do so.
I am always cu iOS of what a person looks like, because I've made up how they look in my head, so I like to compare my idea to the real thing. However, I tend to be disappointed when they do show, because they 100% of the time never ever ever look even close to what I had imagined.
I don't usually have to see a picture of an artists to be satisfied, but if they share a selfie, I'll check it out. It's interesting to put a face to the name, but I also respect those that would rather let their identity remain hidden or be represented by a character of theirs.
Personally, no picture of me has ever been good enough to share, haha. I always look like a goof when I try to take a selfie. |D
I love knowing what people look like. Like, it frustrates me sometimes when I can't find any selfies by them. XD Maybe tumblr has spoiled me in that most people upload selfies there and I'm used to knowing what people look like.
But then, not in the last few years have I started posting pics of me cause I actually like how I look, so I understand not doing it.
It's not that I'm not curious, but art speaks for itself and for the artist. I sort of agree with GPZero. A character that represents the artist is more informative about the artist then a pic of the artist.
