Okay. HERE's why I think it's better. Although I'm very used to the word "Messages," it kind of isn't correct, because technically a message is like a way of communicating. Like notes or comments. But calling them "Notifications" seems to make more sense.
Really it doesn't matter very much, but I guess I like it.
Well technically it makes more sense, since 'messages' suggests a feedback sort of thing, where 'notifications' has that broad quality that says it could be feedback, notes or deviations. I don't know why they didn't already have it that way. *shrugs*
I don't know, guess they started off with "Messages" and intended to keep that, but then weren't sure if they should change because Notifications fit better, though the community already was used to Messages.
A lot of people are unhappy with the change and are mad because apparently everyone asked for them not to do it? Personally I think they may be overreacting, since it's a simple word change. I understand being angry over being ignored, but it wasn't something super important or anything.
If they are asking about changing the whole shape of the site or something then they should listen to what the community wants, but I see no reason why changing one word against the will of the majority is so horrible. But then, maybe I just never got the world in the first place. :0
Wow they changed one word that does not even effect anything. Really something to cry about. Can't believe that someone actually would find it uncomfortable or bothering. Its really kinda stupid to see how people are against even so small changes that wont effect browsing dA in any way. Plus right now it uses correct term. You not getting messages, you getting only notifications about something that happened.
I can't see why so many people freak out about it either xD I mean, yes, there are many other things that need to be looked at. Doesn't mean they can proceed with other, easier changes in the meantime.
