Call me traditional, but I think it's safer for peeps to wait until marriage due to so many STD/STIs but hey if someone wants to do it before I have no problems I just hope they're for sure because I don't want them to feel regrets.

How does marriage prevent STD's?

that's not what I meant. What I meant is rather wait until marriage to reduce the risk of them. The future partner may have them and well, oh shit oh well. But it'd be nice to at least be clean for a partner so they wouldn't worry ig. Theres just too much shit now a days it's healthier to wait because even if the partner has one at least it reduced the amount you could've gotten.

But why wait until marriage rather than "just have sex with one partner"? Marriage is no guarantee you'll never have sex with anyone else. And that way you'll never know if you're sexually compatible before you marry. If you want to avoid STD's simply having safe sex will work 90% better than waiting until marriage.

Amen. and as long as practice safe sex with your partners and get yourselves tested, then there's nothing to worry about (:

I think it's kind of useless to wait until you get married to have sex because it's really important in learning about each other and being happy together. Though I don't support the idea of going around and having thoughtless sex with people with no care for disease/pregnancy, like the a lot of people in my school seem to do hahah...
It's all up to trust and love, really.

I think it's good to have sex before you get married. I mean people can do whatever they want, pretending Jazz didn't exist I would never have sex with someone I didn't completely trust, but I wouldn't be worried about weather or not I'd spend my whole life with them. I would just need to know there was mutual trust and love regardless. And if you get married to someone before you have sex and it ends up being horrible, or you might not even be sexually attracted to their gender. Hell who knows. I think it could end super badly, it's better to know what you're getting into before you get into it. Especially for people who are against divorce.

that's probably super scattered and hard to understand. oh well.

Yea, especially with so many relationships starting on the internet these days, I think it's a requirement to just, well, see what it really is like. As you said, with the gender thing. Online, it doesn't matter at all what sex your partner really has because gender is all there is. But real life is different, real bodies have flaws, and you might be confronted confronted with something that makes you severely uncomfortable in a sexual situation. Before you decide to settle on a person, I think it's best to rule out those scenarios as much as possible.

Well marriage is really supposed to be more of a bonding, if you are already bonded, really you are married. A paper doesn't judge whether you are a boy or girl, you do (your gender) the paper (marriage papers) is only a document nothing more than proof to the government that you are married and share assets. So really I feel like sex before "legal marriage" is ok because if you are with who your "forever person" is than you are already married and can and should have sex really. It is hard concept to explain but I mean. I am married in a sense that it is more of a heart matter more than a legal matter. Like does that make sense?

I think society has a too uptight view regarding sex. I think it should be up to the individual person whether or not they should have sex at any given time. I do not regret having sex even though I'm not married, especially since I don't plan to get married.

"Whoops, too late." xD

Sex before marriage, no question. it's simply an important part of healthy relationships for me, as much as kissing and hugging is. It's just another way to get close to my boyfriend -- and hey, we both have needs x3 I know it's not that important for a lot of people, but it is to us, and it's such a normal and fun part of it.

I can see why people wait, but at the same time it can often be a really bad idea. a lot of marriages have ended very quickly due to both people not being sexually compatible. xD A lot of people say that it doesn't matter because it's "only sex", but there's nothing really "only" about it. xD you need to be compatible with someone, and intimacy is a part of this. It's something that'll need to be talked about a LOT, especially if both of them have very different fetishes and needs in bed.

but yea, I've been with two guys now - my ex and my current boyfriend. Me and my current boyfriend got intimate quite quickly into the relationship, and it just worked for us. We have the same interests and are very compatible in bed together xD I'm not religious and have never felt the need to wait until marriage, because as I said, sex simply is an important thing to me in relationships. What can I say, I love it xD

anyway to finish off this ridiculously long post.. one of the best and truest things i've ever heard about sex is; "when the sex is great, it's literally 10% of the relationship. But if it's bad, then it's 90% of a relationship." It seems crazy, but bad sex can be enough to ruin a relatonship xD

Yea, if it is for you, then go for it, why not :la: And yea, differing sexual desires can be an obstacle for sure...

I can imagine all the frustrations about it bottling up, and disappointments get in the way of love. One can't just underestimate the role of sex in a relationship. Even if you're asexual, that's important too: Your partner has to know where it stops and has to be okay with the fact that there will be no more than that.

yeah, exactly!

You completely hit the nail on the head there. People underestimate the importance of it too much, - especially if you're in a physical relationship. like I said, I have no issue with people waiting (as long as they don't judge me for actively choosing NOT to wait), but it seems to cause more problems than prevent them. as long as they're prepared and have discussed it in great detail, then all the more power to them xD

there is no option for married and not planning to have sex D:

I'm asexual and sex repulsed. So I don't find my husband sexually attractive and I find the idea of sex disgusting. He knew this while we were dating before we got married, so yea xD

Even though I don't find him sexually attractive, I am emotionally attracted/attached to him for many reasons that I won't go into because it doesn't matter xD

things like that happen, they just slip your mind. Maybe you were just all full of curiosity as to the results of the poll you forgot to add options. idunno lol

It is, it's stupid. My in laws and parents also get a little annoying about it. My mom because she doesn't believe it exists and wants children and my in laws because they feel like I'm depriving their son of a natural life thing or whatever. He actually yelled at his mom last time her and I talked about it and told her to never bring it up again. It's great he's so supportive, but I also kinda feel bad. It also sucks when people in person are jerks about it 'cause unlike with online, you can just block them xD
