I don't, but honestly, I do want some sort of birth control. I'm a virgin and WANT TO KEEP IT THAT WAY but apparently if you take birth control, your periods get better and become less frequent and then DISAPPEAR. I hate periods. My doctor recommended me to a gyn to discuss going on the pill but I don't want to go to a gynecologist... //sobs
I take them, but not to control birth. It's because I kinda lost way too much blood because my periods were super irregular and one got WAYYYYYY too heavy..... I think it's helping because once in a while, I forget a pill, but it usually takes 2 days of forgetting/placebo to start me.
What kinda makes it worse, is usually when I feel sick, I just ignore it and it goes away, so when I got anemic from blood loss, I kinda just let myself continue to bleed heavily until I kinda half fainted and collapsed and could barely walk from dizziness. And then I had to get an IV and stay overnight in a hospital. (and I freaking hate hospitals. >.>) Then after the thing, I've gotten like tons of blood tests, but all comes out normal, so we're hoping the pills will regulate me.
I take them although I never had to worry about getting pregnant *foreveralone* I had to take them because the pain was absolutely terrible, like something was ripping my guts out, even with pain killers (the pain would stay the same but there would be breaks between when it hurts and they simply got longer with pain killers until it went away, took way too long) and I almost passed out a few times and was always feeling dizzy, it was awful D: I have ones where theres a little break in between though so I still get my period but it is not as terrible anymore. :'D
I have been offered them in many occasions, because my menstruation is an absolute hell...I will not go into details, but I can say that nearly every "side effect" you can get during that time I have it or have had it. But I do not take pill, for I do not wish to. I am sort of against them, for some reason ^^' Partly because I do not want to have anything in body that does not belong there..Unless it is absolutely unavoidable, such as some vaccines or pain killers.. Though, I only take a pain killer if the pain is unbearable... And the sad thing is I am not very good at dealing with pain kdjfgjh But I usually suffer for as long as I can before I take the medication.
I don't really want it either, and my period wasn't THAT bad except for being rather heavy, long-lasting and irregular, but I don't really get any side effects from the pill, so it's alright I guess. x3
I am a guy but I can state my opinion based on the knowledge I have:
They are quite popular here (especially the "double") pills, since either girls want to have another layer of protection or guys don't want to protect themselves (you should know what I mean) which is sad... They (the pills) can be bought in pharmacy only with a medical prescription "The pills after" are also available but not that easy to get
I don't. Never did, never will. I don't see the point of that being physically female and with another female xD I've heard to many things about girls getting HUGE or having any kind of problem to even consider taking it; and irregular periods aren't bothering me that much really (who would complain about 3 months without that shit?? xD) soooo.. No.
I had to take them because I had the most awful period pains. I dont even have a boyfriend or worry about irregular periods, its just the pain that was even hard to stop with pain killlers, and me feeling dizzy and almost passing out a few times :U Now its alright
Pain killers won't work for me; I need special medicine that is like three times the price of normal pain killers to have something decent. Though the pain is still enough to keep me from sitting for more than 30 minutes without feeling nauseous, I don't feel like it's necessary to take the pill. It's only a few days every months or so after all (sometimes twice a month, sometimes nothing for a few months). ^^
the side effects are not that bad. If taken properly, there are no side effects. However, they contain hormones, so you should consult a doctor. Having irregular peroids may also mean the failure of oral contraceptives, so in any cases of that, girl should always consult a doctor
almost. Mine were always really irregular so sometimes I wouldn't have them for like a whole year. But then one started the day after Christmas last year and it continued, sorta on-and-off-ish and got super heavy in May, so I got anemic and had to get 2 pints of blood put in me and they gave me some pill that stopped it almost immediately. Then when I got out of the hospital, I started taking iron and "the pill", and if I forget it for two days, I will start bleeding without fail. it used to just be one day, but I think months of taking it has helped somewhat.
I don't, never did, but I've been thinking of trying it. Not because of teh sexx stuff (obv I live in a f/f relationship so no threat of getting pregnant there xP) but because my period pains have gotten terrible lately D: they usually only last like two days in the beginning but I have to take a ton of painkillers and it still hurts x( so yeah, the pill could help. It's just that I've heard as many horror stories related to the pill as I've heard stories of it being helpful..
Yeah maybe I'm just paranoid xP a friend once told me she had gained like 7kg after starting to use the pill, some get extreme mood swings or headache or super nauseous, and I've also heard of it making some people's sex drive vanish completely.. so that's why I've been cautious. Though the bad things probably happen just because not all pills work for everyone, and by trying various brands a good one would probably be found
