I go to a Catholic school, but I don't believe in some of the things in the bible. I'm not religious but I respect others that are.

Legally speaking, I'm still part of the Christian church of Finland because I haven't officially left the church. I'm not part of said religion anymore though, I'm more like a pagan, I believe in many of the things in Norse mythology and old Finnish religions. But I don't follow any actual religion, it's more like make-up-your-own-spirituality :P

Ahh, I understand! Making up your own spirituality is more interesting than following a path set by others, in my opinion :P

Indeed! Though I have others that kind of share my religious views, we all have personal opinions on the subject as well and since there are no universal guidelines it's all fine :)

I'm in no way religious and am not apart of any church or religion. I don't have a respect or any other affinity for a religious person simply because they are religious. Respect has to be earned and being religious, in my eyes, is not a a pass in itself. If you are religious and save a child's life because you believe in the terms of your religion it is the right thing to do, then I respect you, however,if you are atheist and save a child's life because you made the decision that it the right thing to do then I shall also respect you. I also believe being of a certain religion does not make you better than anyone else. Such beliefs are simply narsacistic. I am fine with religion as long as it doesn't hurt anyone or the members don't harm anyone because of it, which unfortunately seems to happen a lot. You may have your religion just don't force it unto me, and don't harm anyone.

Whoa, no, not all. There are other religions in Europe. Jews and Muslims for example, there are a lot of Muslims in the cities I go to for school.
Also, a lot of Europeans are atheists nowadays. Around this area I don't know anyone who is really religious.

I just can't understand the idea of someone having a baby while she's still a virgin, as an example. or just the whole idea of heaven and hell, I would think that by now we would have seen it with all our planes and tunnels.

Well, you can just take someone's sperm and put it into yourself of course, then technically you had no sex. But I doubt they meant that :P
And I think most people believe heaven and hell are like, in an alternative universe. Not in our physical world.

JUST MY OPINION I DON'T MEAN TO UPSET ANYONE

I really feel that religion was only created to solve problems man did not know the answer to. Now a days, we have science to prove the unknown and find answers for those mysteries that still exist. Religion is pointless, it only drags our species back by forcing lies and beliefs on the populous.

Well, I other philosophers over time had that idea too. I don't remember who exactly though.

Some people need religion as a goal in life, a reason to keep living, as life itself can seem pointless owo

I'm not religious btw LOL, I am pretty much atheist actually, but I thought I might add to this because even I don't see religion to be as pointless as I used to and I wanted to share why.

Keep in mind it doesn't work for everyone, but I've seen people turn to religion to cope with things such as mental illness, and I've seen people even turn their whole lives around because of it. The whole idea of faith and the fact that someone might be watching over them is a real confidence boost yeah? I don't see gods and religion as an actual living 'thing', but an idea, and ideas have power weather Jesus or Buddha or whoever, actually exists. vuv

I find it might not be turning to religion because of those things, but being religious in general comes with the benefit of it.

Thank you for your input! Though Buddists don't pray to a god, it's more of self discovery.

And there are some nutjobs who justify terrible things because it's "Part of His plan". If He didn't want me to kill that man, then why did he let me? He supports me.

There's a really good YouTuber that explains all the contradictions, plotholes, and theories about God. I forget his name...OH YEAH! It's DarkMatter2525!!!

Well even if they don't pray, it doesn't mean it can't help them be happier with their lives, if Buddism makes someone happier in whatever way then go for it! ;D

I don't even consider those people religious or a part of whatever religion they claim to be in, extremists who want to justify misery or making people sad have no place in my book LOL. I'm pretty sure Christians don't see the Westbro Baptist Church as the same as them in belief, I find a lot of it is actually just up to interpretation since that's the way the Bibile is supposed to be taken. There are a lot of contradictions in it as you mentioned so of course none of it should be taken too literally.

I'll have to check out the video later since I can't see it now! But I bet it's a super good watch!

I am, in fact, a Christian and I'm not sure whether to say I'm religious or not; Mentally I could be religious, but otherwise, I'm probably not if that makes sense. Like, I really hate Church and it's like, "Oh God, stop being so sappy about God please?" At least for my mind.

Anyway, of course I will respect any other religion no matter what even with my thoughts on them or how I was raised to think of them, since their beliefs aren't mine/are mine; I don't need to judge them because I have no right. It was how they were raised, or how they want to be, so why shove my religion down their throats?

I'm atheist; but as long as people can respect me for who/what I am; I'll respect them and what they believe in.

We're all different and judging because of religion is wrong.
You can't tell that someone is hateful, stupid or somethin' just because they are religious - And they can't tell that you are dumb; you'll end up in hell or that you're bad because you're not religious.
That shit doesn't make sense; and life is complicated enough without being all worried about stuff like that XD

So yeah; that's simple, as long as people respect me, I respect them :'3
