Really it's up to the couple ^^

But if they want to, then I say go ahead! I personally don't think it matters whether it's maleXfemale, femaleXfemale or maleXmale. If they want a child, they can do what they wish C: as long as they're prepared for the hard work that's needed for it, then there's nothing wrong.

Really, all a child needs is a safe environment and people to love them (as well as the obvious necessities :P). If the couple supplies these to their child, then I feel that they're perfectly allowed C:

I could just be saying this, though, since I've always wanted to have children, and am sticking up for homosexuals :'D I guess we'll never know x)

But Bienie, are you trying to tell us something...?

:'D

Well, I have to agree with everything you said :XD:

Though as for the "are you trying to tell us something" I never wanted to have children and neither does my girlfriend, so... :')

my opinion is complicated, i guess, but overall i say yes. they'd probably make way better parents than some of the straight people who accidentally have kids or have them and then don't want them or choose to abuse them and etc. i'm not against same sex couples at all, to me it doesn't matter if someone likes guys or girls, i'm not going to judge someone for wanting to be with the same sex because it doesn't affect me and i think that same sex couples would actually promote people to not be so grossed out or offended by gays/lesbians/bis/whatever else and the kids wouldn't think it was weird but could have their own sexuality and their parents wouldn't judge, where usually if you have straight parents they're going to judge you harshly if you even think about liking the same sex. some parents have even kicked them out for not being straight and it's horrible.

but i also think it might be hard on the kid, because of so many people being against same sex marriage and couples, (i'm not, i don't mind it) but the kid might get bullied or teased if their classmates found out, and worse, they might think that being gay is wrong. so i don't know, because how society is now people might be harsh on them, and how cruel kids are in school it might affect their kid on how they see homosexual (sorry i don't mean to use any offending terms, i don't really call anyone homos or anything because if i talk to someone i don't really need to know or be in their business about their sexuality, so i don't know if what i'm saying is offensive or not aa) people and make them not like their parents or not want to be around them. idk but i guess basically i fear if someone chose to do that, with how people are now not accepting same sex couples even with them being legal, that their lives would be harder because of how cruel someone who is against it would treat them.

I think your opinion is understandable, it's a shame we live in such a hateful world though! I think it's kind of bad that the opinion of outsiders can play such a big role in deciding on whether to get a child or not.
/extremely short reply compared to your comment, ff sorry. But I guess I agree with most of your points here :'D

On a side note, homosexual is not an offending term, no worries :P It's the correct term after all! Offending would be something like faggots, but gay/homosexual are perfectly useable.

Haha, i find it ridiculous how close minded some people can be, if you take care of the kids, then by all means you should be aloud to have them, without the meaningless gender identification that the world is pushed around.

I think they could and should be given so problem if they wanted to. In my opinion, gender doesn't affect love in any way and what choices they'd want to make.
Some people oppose the idea saying it's bad as their kid could get bullied,, (¬‿¬) but people need to let their kids know to keep their rude opinions to themselves

Many kids get bullied nowadays, but I think we should teach our kids how to handle bullying and to be more tolerant of others rather than not get children.
But yea, true :P

To be honest, I don't really understand why gender is such a big deal. If people want to have children, why not? The nice thing about same-sex is that you have to adopt a child from somewhere, and adoption is always a good thing in my opinion. ^^

I feel like some people just get so shocked when they hear you don't want to follow those normal standards of building a family. My dad actually thinks there is something wrong with me because I don't want to have children and I don't really want a husband either (I'm asexual, and I don't really get attracted to people more than just friends... I'm also kind of afraid of babies, which for some reason creep me out -- lol).

But yeah, I really don't see what the issue is. I actually feel like it's beneficial for same-sex couples to have children, because there are so many kids out there in need a family, so we could use more couples that are willing to adopt them. :>

Gender really shouldn't make a difference, in my opinion. If couples want to raise children they should be able to, regardless of their sexes -- and on the contrary, if people don't want to raise a family and have children, then they shouldn't have to feel obligated to do that either. ~

That, or something like sperm donors. Adoption IS a good thing, sadly straight couples will always get priority on same sex couples with the same capacity to raise a child.

People seem to be like that, yes. But I don't see what's wrong with not wanting children or a husband/wife really! If you want it, fine, if you don't, fine too. No one's business but yours :3

And exactly. ^^

Honestly, I don't know why they should not raise kids if they want to.
There's no reason to think they can't do it.
Let's just think of all those straight couples with an abusive parent, and it's easy to say that the kids would be happier with two mothers or two fathers instead of a fucked up but "normal" (because that's the word I hear everywhere) family !
And after all the fights to have the right to rise a baby, I think they could be.. maybe not "better" parents, but they'd give all they have to be the best for their kids.
So I totally think same sex couples should rise children if they want to <3

I had a friend when I was a kid, who had two mothers, and I talked to him a year ago : He grew up as an intelligent and well-educated young man, and he's a future doctor ! ^^ So I don't understand why I hear people saying that same sex couple will fail at raising kids ~

I don't think the sexuality of their parents would really make them gay. That boy I'm talking about is heterosexual and I had a mom and dad and I'm bisexual (and my biological father HATES gays). So it's just stupid excuses to try to make believe that same sex couples are wrong.

Are we forgetting how many children lost thier fathers and had one of the mother's friends help out, i believe that regardless of orientation, if the two "parents" love eachother and thier child, then everything would work out fine... :D

Just because they can't have their own doesn't mean they cant love and raise a child who was unfortunate to end up without their own parents or by other ways.
They can still love and raise a child the way every parent can. :)

Because of the whole process of finally getting a child, it's usually same sex couples who would look after them more while an average straight couple could have a child on their own, whenever they might want one. I'm not saying a man/woman couple would love their child less, they just have more chance of not realising how lucky they are to have a child to a same sex couple maybe.

Yeah, most straight couples can just get children without even WANTING one (which can result in abuse or neglect) while a same sex couple would have to go through a lot to finally get their child.

I guess they have the same chances to be good or bad parents as straight people. :3
However, since the chances of getting a baby on accident is rather low, the ones who are willing to get through the troubles of adoption/finding a donor/etc. must be very devoted, I think.

I guess they 're better parents because they must be very devoted and going to much troubles to reach their goals.
They really choose to have a child...

Straight people sometimes are too young when become parents and don't choose to raise their child.
Many children are suffering of abuse.....because their parents don't love them....

I don't see why everyone freaks out when they rise kids.

I heard on the news or something, that they shouldn't because the kids are more likely to be gay, and when I heard that I got so mad because there is nothing wrong with.

I think if same sex couples want kids, then they DEFINITELY should get kids.
(I also think this because I highly support adoption, and I think adopted kid would be happily adopted by anyone.)

I don't get the "The kids will be gay" argument, seeing how most gays have parents of different sex themselves... =P But indeed, so what if the kids would be gay after all!

Sadly, the procedures for adoption are rather difficult and in most cases, if there's a straight couple available, the child WILL be adopted by them and not a same sex couple.

I don't get it ether but apparently they have facts to back it up.

There are lots and lots of kids and babies for adoption and (sadly) not a lot of people adopt kids.
Normally if a straight couple adopts a kid it's because they cant have any.
And yes procedures for adoption are difficult (my parents told me about it because my older brother is adopted)
but if a couple really wants kids its worth it in the end

The results of this poll so far make me happy :3
I always hear conservatives go:"A child needs both a mother and a father figurine in their life to grow up in a balanced environment and have a stable life and bla bla etc" but I have yet to meet/hear of a child who has actually suffered any mental trauma greater than those who have grown up in a "normal" family. I don't think it's about the gender of the parents, it's how capable they are of raising a child what counts. :)
