When drawing a character whose eyes are completely or partially covered by hair, what do you do?

Logically, the covered area should be omitted.
Personally, I just don't color it, although there may be a time in the future where I might draw a character whose eyes might be completely covered and I might not draw them at all. ;)

And that's totally understandable.
More realistic, less like my fail-anime style. :P

i either make them transparent or dont even show the parts colored.
if the eyes are important to the expression of the character then i'll usually make them transparent.

Sketch everything out, eyes and all, draw in the hair over the top, remove the sketchy part of the eyes behind the hair. I'm realistic about it. I hate cartoons/animes that show eyes through the hair like it's some kind of see thru object.

Yeah, it tends to bother me as well, especially when it looks weird, which it tends to do because it IS weird to see an eye on hair.

i wonder what they were thinking... yes its a toon but still hair is solid, not translucent. A few strands I could see doing that with, but not a huge chunk

i used to draw and colour the full eye over the hair, then i just did the outline, now i dont draw any part of an eye thats covered by hair xD i do draw the eyebrow over the hair still though, if any part of the eye is visible out from under it

I don't draw them at all. Sometimes when I cover the eyes with hair, it's to get around drawing the eyes at all XP

I basically stare at the drawing and pout, because I absolutely hate not drawing the eyes. xD but in the end, I just don't draw them

Sometimes I'll just draw the outlines, sometimes I'll just leave the hair covering the eye so it doesn't show up at all ouo

I tried making the hair half-transparent around the eyes, but I think I'll try something else, because it doesn't look really great.

I only draw the eyebrows over the hair :la:

I agree with you. But actually, I don't really like it, when a character's hair covers his/her face at all. It just feels like something is missing. (Well...their face does. :D)
