i dont have nightmares any more but i remember a few years ago i did. what i would do is breath until i calm down and because that just calmed me down but i still was scared so i would get a glass of water take one of my favorites books and read a chapter or two. the reading makes you forget about the dream and get excited because you love the book.

FOR SOME REASON I NEVER HAVE NIGHTMARES
BECAUSE I CONSCIOUSLY KNOW THAT MY DREAMS AREN'T REAL
LAST TIME I HAD A NIGHTMARE.
I WAS BEING CHASED BY SOMETHING
AND ALL OF A SUDDEN
I SHOUTED
"STOP"
AND THE PEOPLE STOPED CHASING ME REALLY CONFUSED
AND I SAID TO THEM
"WAIT THIS IS A DREAM RIGHT?"
AND THEY SLOWLY NODDED
AND THEN I WAS LIKE
"SO NON OF THIS IS REAL RIGHT?"
AND THEY WHERE LIKE
"...YEEAH?"
AND THEN IM LIKE
"SO WHY ARE YOU CHASING ME?"
AND THEY SHRUGGED AND WALKED AWAY
NEVER HAD A NIGHTMARE SENSE
I DID HAVE A DREAM ABOUT ACID RAIN BURNING THROUGH MY ROOFTOP
AND EVERYONE IN MY HOUSE WAS FREAKING OUT
BUT I WAS LIKE LAUGHING AND HAVING A BLAST
LOL I DUNNO

Lucky. xD The impact of the dream often lasts for days, well during the day I'm fine but at night it gets scary. x)

Not so much lucky as just outright corrupted, I'd say. I'm not the kid I used to be. ^^;
That's no good. I wish there was something I could do to help make it go away. :iconbatnoesplz:

Well, afterwords, I take deep breaths and close my eyes. I usually fantasize stuff, create my own story in my mind or read a book or something. I try to take my mind off it, do anything. Even in the middle of the night I will get up, get a drink, twiddle my thumbs, count as high as I can g before losing track, anything.

Hm...maybe eating, or taking a walk, do a few things. The thing is to do something to get your thoughts cleared from that nightmare. :)

What I do, is if it's like in the middle of the night, I just try to go back to sleep and thnk about other stuff. Or I talk about it to my mom or friends or bf. it depends on what kind of nightmare it is. last time I had one was a few months ago. after telling everything I felt better.

I don't know if it really helps, but if having a nightmare (or actually any dream ever) makes me wake up so that I can still remember everything in detail, I write it down. It helps me memorize it all, and somehow eases the feeling... I have no idea why xD

Also it may be amusing to read them again later, when you've already forgotten what's happened

Even if I wake up I usually fall back a sleep right away. Usually though I just stay asleep and keep seeing nightmares through out the night.

What I use is an old remedy of wicca witchcraft :D as I am a wicce I use this when I feelscared, lost or angry and it's simple.

Get some lavender out of the garden and make a thea out of it or just put the lavender next to a candle, the candle will absorb the plants scent and it will extract in your room...
or you can use lavenderoil with a candle= the same effect.

Lavender has a calm effect on the brain with causes your brain to feel relaxed and so does your body, it's harmless and works pretty good :) I always do this after a hard and rough day, hope it works the same for you

Talk it outt with someone <: Or write it down. GEtting it out should prevent you from thinking about it atleast so much.

What I usually do in these types of situations is to pretend someone is with me where ever I go. Either someone I trust a lot or someone of great power. It usually helps me calm down, as well as talking to someone near by about the dream or being held.

Another way I use to calm down is to believe that the being or thing is good or helping me even if it's not. It keeps me from being afraid that way, but it mite be different for you.

I hope this helped!

I had a paranormal dream about my old house, when I moved into my new/old house (I lived there before) and I already know there's ghost or demons or something there, and they probably want me out, but I just don't care... but sometimes it's easy for me to get over it, but sometimes it's not.

yeah, I don't really think he's a ghost, but sometimes I think I can feel he's there... (he was a cat, but it still feels he's there... he died under my grandmas porch, which I live there now, and we burried him next door. but I can still see him for some reason)

yeah, but I hear voices inside the house, even when nonbody's there, I don't really get scared by them, I just lay down and watch tv, but for some reason, at night when everybody's gone, I CANNOT turn on the vacum, idk why, but I just can't get myself to, it doesn't scare me in the day, but at night it creeps me out... (very recent I was trying to go to bed and I kept hearing small noises, everybody was asleep, and I thought oh it's just my brother walking around or something, but when we all woke up the next morning, my dad's phone and all the money out of his wallet was missing)
