I thought since people keep downloading my comics I would clear up what the licence means.

Comedy is free, open source and available for everyone. You cannot truly limit anything in this world, and that is something I do not wish to do. If you download these comics for personal or non-profit use such as showing to friends, sticking on a website, and much more like that, then you are free to do so without a lawsuit. You can take the jokes off and make your own comics, You can use the same drawing style, heck as long as you made it, it's not mine to limit.

IMPORTANT - CREATIVE COMMONS RESTRICTIONS IN PLACE
Don't panic, this doesn't mean I've turned evil... Not just yet, at least.

The comic series has evolved to the point it is now getting a section on my site. At the same time I feel like my comics are getting their own 'style'. As of such, I am thinking it's appropriate to place a loose creative commons restriction on my work.

This is only affecting comics made from the 31st March 2014, but a Creative Commons Attribution and Non-Commercial license has been applied to all works past this date. This is only until I work out a license which would suit the content the best, but the restriction applies to the artwork only, as I still believe that comedy is free.

The restriction is looser than it seems at first. For starters, please for the love of whatever share this comic, download it, set it on fire, whatever you want. If you wish to use it as a reference to create your own artwork (why this!?), you are free to do so as long as the changes are not made under the Bowl of Soup name (in other words, change anything and you must remove the creative commons notice for Bowl of Soup). If the license notice is just outright removed and content is not changed, this will violate the restriction. Also my work that is presented as-is is not allowed to be used for commercial purposes without prior consent (which isn't hard, just drop me an email*).

A section on the site will appear shortly with further details. If you are confused about anything please email me. If you do not want to, basically just do not sell my work or remove the creative commons notices, and if any change is made by you then remove the notice.

*Deviantart malforms application URLs, the email is administrator@bowl-of-soup.co.uk.

What you cannot do

AS OF 30TH MARCH 2014, THE BELOW NO LONGER APPLIES FOR FURTHER COMICS.
Important: Any comics from 21st May 2013 to the 30th March 2014 (all comics at this time were uploaded to Stick of Celery) no longer has restrictions. All works after this date are now Creative Commons 3.0. All that is asked is that you credit me if you use my work for whatever reason. Despite the license saying it is mandatory, I give authorisation to anyone who uses this work permission for that section to be optional. In other words, do whatever the hell you want with my work. I don't have permission to set my comics uploaded to deviantart as Public Domain basically.

The rest of this section applies only to comics uploaded before 21st May.

The only two things I will limit (and take lawful action if deemed necessary) is re-branding my own work as yours (removing the watermark and replacing it with yours, making small alternations, etc) or selling my work for commercial purposes. All of these are considered theft, and I will not stand for that kind of action. That's it.

In short, I do not want anyone stealing my work or using it for commercial gain without it being their own work (taking the jokes is fine, 9 times out of 10 comedy writers and artists do that anyway).

I hope this clears things up. I may intend to get revenue from this in the form of advertising on my own website, otherwise these rules are set in stone. If you are unclear simply contact me and I will clear it up with you.

Requests/Commissions
I will do any request for free, no strings attached. Credit is nice but not required.
