The students watched as Jaden won the duel against Crowler, some gasping in shock, others clapping at his victory. Alexis, who was leaning against the railing, smiled.

"That kid's got a future here, wow." She said. Beside her and Willow, Zane walked away from the railing, exhaling harshly. The entire time they had all been watching the applicants try to pass the exam, he had seemed more snappy than normal. Willow looked over at Alexis.

"I'll go talk to him." She said before following the tall cyber duelist, watching as he stopped at a spot away from the crowds. Standing next to him, she leant her prosthetic left arm on the railing. "You've been more critical than usual today. What's up?"

"Nothing." He replied, his tone sharp with underlining tension.

"Alright, I won't pry, but I'm here if you need me." She sighed before looking out at the crowd, watching the successful applicants chatting amongst themselves. Zane seemed to be staring at his younger brother Syrus, his eyes narrowing slightly. Noticing the tension, Willow spoke up.

"We should get going Zane, we need to board the ship to take us to the island; I suppose the perks of being third years is that we get some days to ourselves, before the noisy freshmen show up."

Zane gave a nod, turning towards her. "Yeah, let's go."
