The City of Dartown covers 403 square miles and has a population of 980,000. The Dartown Fire Department is made up of 66 active stations with 64 Engines, 27 ladders, 12 Battalion Chiefs, 7 Rescues, 5 Hazmat trucks, 10 BLS ambulances, 36 ALS ambulances, 6 Tankers, and various support units. The EMS division of DFD is staffed primarily by single role EMS providers. While these employees are not trained in firefighting operations, many of these employees choose to transfer to the fire suppression side. DFD responds to approx 130,000 calls for service annually.
