Description
Tyndall County Fire Rescue Station 2 is located on the eastern side of Tyndall County is the town of Dixon. This Combination station that protects a small town with a very large rural area. Station 2 is home to Engine 2, Engine 102, Tanker 2, Brush 2, Ambulance 2, and Ambulance 102. Station 2 is part of the 4th Battalion.
Station 2 is staffed 24/7 with a staff of 2 who are supplemented with 18 volunteers. The crew at station 2 primarily staff Ambulance 2, but will staff engine 2 for calls where an ambulance isn't needed. Chase 1 serves as the primary ALS unit for station 2 and responds to assist on all medical calls.
Engine 2: (1500gpm/1000gal) Engine 2 serves as the primary engine for station 2. It responds to nearly all fire calls in station 2s district. It has seating for 5.
Engine 102: (1500gpm/750gal) Ex EG6. Eg102 primarily serves as a reserve engine. It remains fully equipped and can respond as a second engine when needed.
Tanker 2: (1250gpm/2500gal) Tanker 2 responds to all fire calls and fire alarms in 2s district outside of the town of Dixon.
Grass Rig 2: (200gpm/250gal) This unit went through an extensive refurb in 2015. Grass rig 2 responds to all vegetation fires. It can also respond as an EMS first responder unit.
Ambulance 2: This is the primary unit of the duty crew at station 2. It responds to all EMS calls and vehicle accidents within their district.
Ambulance 102: (ex AM2) Ambulance 102 serves as a reserve ambulance. It is not staffed when ambulance 2 is on a call.
