South Epler Fire Rescue Station 43 is located in the northwestern portion of SEFRs coverage area. This all volunteer station protects a largely rural area including the village of Camby. Station 43 is staffed by 18 volunteers who respond to the station when needed. Station 43 is home to Support 43, Tanker 43, and Brush 43. EMS service is provided by Epler county EMS.
Support 43: (300gal/250gpm) This unique unit originally served Gadsen FD in Delmar county as medic 1. This ambulance is equipped with a small water tank and pump. This unit was designed to "hold its own" on vehicle accidents. This unit was purchased by SEFR in 2019 and was converted in a support truck. The tank and pump remain functional, but the EMS patient compartment has been renovated. This truck now carries a full set of extrication tools, cribbing, struts, various saws, hand tools, hooks, fans, and spare SCBA bottles. with seating for 5, this unit will respond district wide to working incidents for manpower. Support 43 responds first out to EMS calls, and vehicle crashes from station 43.
Tanker 43: (2100gal/1250gpm) Tanker 43 serves as a pumper tanker for SEFR. while it does not carry a full compliment of engine company tools, it does have the capabilities to serve as a frontline pumper. It also has pump and roll capabilities, allowing this unit to serve as a rapid attack truck for brush/vegetation fires.
Brush 43: (400gal/300gpm) Brush 43 responds first out for all brush fires on the north side of SEFRs district. It will also routinely assist Furnas Twp. FD.
