Shelburne Fire Department

The town of Shelburne is located in central Delmar County. Shelburne Fire Department (Station 13) is a paid fire department that protects the small community of Shelburne and unincorporated Union Township. SFD is staffed full time with 5 personnel. Staffing included 9 full time employees and 20 part time employees. Station 13 is home Engine 13, Engine 13-2, Tanker 13, Medic 13, Rescue 13, and Brush 13. The on duty crew of 5 will respond in the most appropriate unit(s) and are not assigned to any specific unit.

Engine 13: (1500gpm/750gal) Engine 13 responds first out to all fires and vehicle crashes. It is equipped with a full set of extrication equipment. 

Engine 13-2: (1500gpm/1000gal) Engine 13-2 serves as a reserve apparatus for SFD. It previously served as EG13

Tanker 13: (500gpm/3000gal) Tanker 5 responds to all rural fire calls. It also responds as a blocking apparatus to highway incidents

Medic 13: MD13 responds to all medical calls from station 13. It is staffed to the paramedic level. 

Rescue 13: (500gal/350gpm) Rescue 13 responds to all medical calls with MD13. It also responds to all brush fires. 

Brush 13: (1250gpm/2500gal) Brush 13 is a custom 4x4 apparatus designed for field fire responses. It responds as a rapid attack unit for vegetation fires. It can also serve as an engine and tanker as needed for incidents.
