Rockville Township Volunteer Fire Department (station 9) is located in the northwestern portion of Kennedy County. Station 9 is an all volunteer station that provides fire, rescue and medical first response coverage to 73 square miles of residential and farmland on the northwestern portion of Kennedy County. Station 9 is home to Engine 9-1, Engine 9-2, Tanker 9-3, Tanker 9-4, Brush 9-6, and Rescue 9-8.

Engine 9-1: this unit responds to all incidents within the township. It responds 1st out all medical calls and MVC's. It is usually 3rd or 4th out to fires depending on staffing.

Engine 9-2: this unit responds 1st out to all fires. it responds 3rd out to vegetation fires and MVC's

Tanker 9-3: This tanker is usually the first out tanker to fires. It is usually 2nd out behind E9-2 or B9-6

Tanker 9-4: this tanker is the first out unit to any mutual air fire request. it serves as the second due tanker within the township.

Brush 9-6: this unit serves dual purpose for the department. It responds first out to any vegetation fire. it can also act a 3rd tanker if needed.

Rescue 9-8: this unit responds to all fires and MVC's within the township. It has seating for 7 crew members and is equipped with a mobile cascade system in addition to full compliments of extrication an firefighting tools
