Description
Petersburgh Fire Department West Station, commonly referred to as station two, is located on the west side of Petersburgh near Homecroft. Station 2 is an all volunteer station that is manned by 25 volunteers and 10 reserve members. Station 2 protects a largely residential area. Station 2 is home to Squad 5, Ladder 5, Brush 5, Utility 5-2, and Fire-Police 5-2.
Squad 5: (1500gpm/1000gal) Squad 5 serves as the primary engine from station two. It is equipped with a full set extrication tools and cribbing. Squad 5 responds first out to all MVCs and rescue calls. It responds second out to all fires and alarms from station 2.
Ladder 5: (2000gpm/500gal) Ladder 5 serves as quint for PFD. It responds first out to all fire alarms and structure fires from station 2. It is also frequently requested by Homecroft FD for larger incidents.
Brush 5: (350gpm/300gal) Brush 5 responds to all vegetation fires within Petersburgh.
Utility 5-2: This unit responds first out to all EMS assists and public assist calls (trees down, water in basement, etc.) It is equipped with a full complement of BLS supplies in addition to a dewatering pump, chain saws, and various hand tools.
Fire-Police 5-2: This unit is used by reserve members for traffic control at incidents. It responds to all MVCs and all incidents where roadways way be closed for a period of time.
