Description
Ocean City Fire/Rescue Station 1 is located just west of downtown Ocean City. Station one is home to Engine 1, Ladder 1, Rescue 1, Safety 1, and Rescue Medic 1. Station 1 is home to 9 Firefighters and 2 Rescue Paramedic. Station one is part of the 1st Battalion for OCFR and serves as an extrication task force house.
Engine 1: (1500gpm/500gal) This engine is staffed with 4 firefighters and responds to a majority of calls from station 1.
Ladder 1: This unit is staffed with 4 firefighters. It is routinely one of the busier ladders within the city.
Rescue 1: Staffed by the crew of Ladder 1 when needed, this Heavy rescue responds throughout downtown and portions of the near southwest side for vehicle crashes and technical rescue calls.
Safety 1: Staffed with one Captain, this unit responds to major calls and serves as the safety officer on incident scenes.
Rescue Medic 1: While OCEMS is separate from OCFR, Rescue Medic units work hand in hand with OCFR rescue companies. Staffed with specialized Rescue Paramedics, these units carry additional specialty equipment to operate directly alongside OCFR crews on advanced rescue situations. These units also have their own first due for medical calls.
