Hamilton Fire/Rescue Station 2 is located on the southern side of the district. Station 2 covers a largely residential and light industrial area with 3 heavily traveled highways. Station 2 is staffed with 2 EMTs 24/7 and 3 firefighters Mon-Fri 6a-6p who are supplemented by 20 volunteers. The on duty fire crew is not assigned to a specific apparatus and will respond with the most appropriate unit(s) for each call. Station 2 is home to Engine 2, Engine 22, Rescue 2, Tanker 2, Brush 2, and Ambulance 2.
Engine 2: (1500gpm/1000gal/20gal) With seating for 6, E2 responds first out to most fire calls from station 2. Due to the large amount of highway covered by station 2 a foam tank was added to this truck to deal with vehicle fires
Engine 22: (1500gpm/750gal) After serving as a frontline engine for over 20 years, EG22 now serves primarily as a reserve/training engine. This fully equipped engine can also serve as a second out engine for large incidents or when multiple calls are active.
Rescue 2: Rescue 2 responds first out to all vehicle crashes and rescue calls. with seating for 8, R2 also responds to most residence fires as manpower unit.
Tanker 2: (1000gpm/3000gal) Tanker 2 responds second out on all fires where water supply is limited. It also responds to all vehicle fires
Brush 2: (125gpm/250gal) Brush 2 responds to all vegetation fires and also responds as a medical 1st responder unit with volunteers
Ambulance 2: This BLS ambulance is staffed 24/7. In addition to EMS supplies, A2 is equipped with SCBAs and basic firefighting equipment.
