Furnas Township Fire Department Station 21

Furnas Township Fire Department is located in northeastern Epler County immediately south of Centralia. FTFD is a career fire department operating out of 4 stations. FTFD provides fire, technical rescue, vehicle extrication, hazmat, and ALS non-transport services to 35,000 residents and 33 square miles. EMS transport services are provided by Epler County EMS. 

FTFD station 21 is located in the north central portion of Furnas Township. Station 21 is staffed with 11 personnel and is home to Engine 21, Ladder 21, Squad 21, Rescue 21, Safety 2, and Engine 27. Station 21 is considers a tactical rescue house and will respond to all specialty rescues in Furnas Township. 

Engine 21: (2000gal/750gal) Engine 21 is staffed with 4 personnel. EG21 responds first out to all fire calls and second out to all EMS calls. It is staffed to the paramedic level and is equipped with a small amount of rescue equipment to complement SQ21 and RS21. '

Ladder 21: (1500gpm/300gal) Ladder 21 is staffed with 4 personnel and responded to all fires, and building alarms on the north side of the township. Due to its close proximity to Centralia, LD21 frequently responds with CFD for structure fires. 

Rescue Squad 21: Squad 21 is staffed with 2 firefighter paramedics and respond to all EMS calls within station 21s first due. SQ21 also responds township wide to all fires, vehicle crashes, and technical rescue calls. It is Equipped with a full complement of ALS supplies in addition to extrication and firefighting equipment. SQ21 also serves as a second piece to RS21 and will respond to any incident Rescue 21 responds to. 

Heavy Rescue 21: Rescue 21 is cross staffed by Ladder 21. RS21 is equipped primarily to respond to vehicle accidents and rope rescue calls. This unit responds as part of rescue task force with EG21 and SQ21 to any request for the rescue. 

Safety 2: Staffed with a Captain, Safety 2 respond to any incident involving 3 or more FTFD units. It also responds to any call on the highway or interstate to serve as a blocking apparatus. 

Engine 27: (1500gpm/500gal) EG27 (ex EG24) serves as a reserve/training engine. It is fully equipped so minimal time is need to swap into EG27.
