Fort Wilson County Fire Department Station Eight

Station Eight is home to Engine 8, Squad 8, and Tanker 8.

Engine 8: Engine 8 is a twin of engine 7 and is usually the first out apparatus for station 8.

Squad 8: Squad 8 is an unusual piece. Squad 8 was originally designed with the idea of it being a 4x4 vehicle with off-road capability. While changes were eventually made, it did keep it's small wheel base and rear-mounted pump. The pump panel is accessed through a rear roll-up door that includes a large motorized hose reel for the 1 1/2" attack line.

Tanker 8: With its large water capacity, Tanker 8 is dispatched on most fire calls and mutual aid calls in the area. While most of the newer developments in their first due have hydrants, many of the older rural areas do not.
