Description
The Delmar County Sheriff's Office provides Law Enforcement services to all of Delmar County. The patrol division consists of 30 Deputies divided over 4 shifts. These Deputies respond to various calls for service and are designated specific patrol districts to provide the best service coverage possible. Depending on the assignment of the Deputy, they are assigned a specific vehicle.
2019/2022 Dodge Charger: These cars are the work horses of the patrol division. The Sheriffs office plans to purchase 7 new cars every 3 year.
2016/2023 Chevy Tahoe: Police SUV's are typically issued to field supervisors or officers assigned to special divisions (SWAT, Crisis Negotiators, Ground Search & Rescue, etc. ) These units have the same patrol responsibilities and other officers in the division.
2019 Slick Top Dodge Chargers/CVPIs: these cars serve as pool cars to be used as fleet backups. These units are also used by reserve deputies to assist the patrol division.
Ford F-150: These pickup trucks are issues to the deputies assigned to the far eastern portion of Delmar County. Due to the rough roads and rural area, a typical sedan or SUV would be effective for these areas.
