Description
Dartown Fire Department Station 9 is located on the far north side of Dartown. Station 9 protects a mainly commercial area with some residential and multiple miles of busy interstate. Station 9 is home to Engine 9, Rescue 3, Ladder 9 and Medic 9. It is staffed daily with 10 personnel and is part of the 2nd battalion.
Engine 9: (200gpm/500gal/50A) Staffed with 4 personnel, Engine 9 responds as part of the extrication task force with Rescue 3. Engine 9 is also equipped with additional foam buckets and a set of battery extrication tools due to the large portion of interstate in their first due.
Rescue 3: Rescue 3 is one of 5 cross staffed rescues in Dartown. These rescue companies are strategically placed intended to conduct the majority of rescue work in areas where the two staffed rescues have extended response times. Cross staffed by Ladder 9, R3 responds across the northern portion of Dartown to any vehicle crash with entrapment or vehicle crash involving a large fuel spill. R3 is equipped with 2 full sets of extrication tools, A Paratech Interstate stabilization kit, A large complement of cribbing, and high pressure airbags. Rescue 3 is also equipped with a large oil dry hopper located in one of the coffin compartments connected to a hose, absorbent pads and booms and equipment for plugging, damming and diking of spills.
Ladder 9: This serves as a conventional ladder company for the north side. When needed, Ladder 09 with staff rescue 03.
Medic 09: Medic 9 is staffed 24/7 to the paramedic level. While its response area is mainly Dartown, It is pulled into outside counties frequently for paramedic assists.
