Description
Dartown Fire Department Station 7 is located on the northern side of downtown adjacent to Dartown Fire Department Headquarters. Station 7 protects a mix of high rise commercial and residential buildings and rowhouses and "taxpayers". Station 7 is staffed daily with 17 personnel and home to Engine 7, Rescue 1, Ladder 7, Squad 7, Boat 7, and the Duty Chief. Station 7 is part of the 7th battalion.
Engine 7 (2000gpm/500gal): Engine 7 is staffed daily with 4. It is equipped and responds as a standard engine company.
Rescue 1: Rescue 1 is one of only 2 fully staffed heavy rescues in the city. Rescue 1 is staffed with 5 personnel. Rescue one responds to all working fires, vehicle crashes with entrapments, all technical rescue incidents (rope, water, dive, collapse, etc.) Rescue 1 personnel report to battalion 1.
Ladder 1: Ladder one is staffed with 5 personnel and is only one of two tillers in the city. With a large number of high rises, Ladder 7 is equipped with additional ventilation and high rise operation equipment.
Squad 7: (1000gpm/300gal) Staffed with 2 personnel SQ7 responds first out to all EMS calls. In addition, Squad 7 supplements Rescue 1. With its water and pump, Squad 7 also responds to small fires and can serve as a grass rig in a pinch.
Boat 7: Rescue 1 serves as the primary dive team for the south side of Dartown. When need boat 7 is towed by squad 7 to assist rescue 1.
Duty Chief: The duty chief serves as the shift commander for the entire department. While this position is more of an administrative role, the duty does respond to any 2 alarm or greater fire and any working special operations call.
