Dartown Fire Department Station 5 is located just north of downtown Dartown and protects a largely residential area. Station 5 serves as the headquarters for the Special Operations Division and the Public Information Office. Station 5 is staffed 24/7 with 8 personnel. The Public Information Office has a staff of 4 who work Monday through Friday. Loacted Directly behind station 5 is DFDs Special Operations Training Center. This facility was specially designed for Hazmat, Rope Rescue, Trench, Confined Space, and Structure Collapse training. Station 5 is home to Engine 5, Ambulance 5, TRT 2, EMS 3, Battalion 1, PIO 1, and PIO 2.
Engine 5 (2000gpm/500gal): Engine 5 is staffed with 4 personnel. It is equipped for standard engine company operations.
Ambulance 5: A5 is staffed 24/7 to the BLS level. This ambulance is routinely one of the busiest ambulances in the city.
TRT 2: Cross staffed by Engine 5, this unit was meticulously spec'd by the Special Operations Division. TRT 2 will respond in tandem with TRT 1 to any callout. TRT 2 primarily specializes in rope, and confined space rescue. It is also equipped with rigging and heavy lifting equipment to accompany it top mounted crane.
EMS 3: EMS 3 serves as the EMS officer for downtown dartown. EMS 3 is staffed 24/7 with a paramedic Lieutenant or Captain. EMS 3 will respond to all high acuity calls and also serves as a paramedic chase unit for BLS ambulances as needed.
Battalion 1: BC 1 is staffed with 1 Battalion Chief who oversees all specialty units and teams in Dartown. BC1 will respond to any specialty team callout city wide. While considered a Battalion Chief, on special operations runs, they serve as a liaison and information resource for the incident commander.
PIO 1 & PIO 2: Both PIO units are used by the Public information office for field work. Once these units is on call 24/7 each member of the office takes turns on the on-call list.
