Description
The Town of Dartmine is located in central Delmar County and serves as the county seat. DFD is a career fire department that provides Fire, Rescue, and ALS transport to all of the town of Dartmine and unincorporated Polk Township. DFD headquarters is home to engine 6, Squad 6, Tower 6, Battalion 6, Rescue 6, and Rescue 6-1. Station 1 is staffed with 8 personnel daily and serve a largely residential and commercial area.
Engine 6: (1500gpm/750gal) Staffed daily with 3, Engine 6 responds first out to all fire calls from Station 1. It also carries some additional rescue equipment to supplement Squad 6.
Squad 6: (500gpm/200gal) Squad 6 is crossed staffed by Rescue 6-1. Squad 6 responds to all vehicle crashes and rescue calls in Dartmine. It is also equipped with a small pump and tank in additional to the rope, machinery, and vehicle rescue equipment.
Tower 6: T-6 responds to all building fires and high-life hazard fire alarms. It is staffed by Rescue 6
Battalion 6: Staffed by the battalion chief, BC06 responds to all major calls and serves as the shift commander for DFD.
Rescue 6: This Paramedic ambulance responds to all medical calls and vehicle crashed from station one. R-6's crew cross staffed Tower 1 when needed.
Rescue 6-1: R-6-1 is the second out ambulance from DFD station 1. While its primary role is 911 response, this unit also serves as an interfacility transport ambulance when patients need transported from the local hospital to a tertiary care center. It rotates with Rescue 5 for transports. R-6-1 also cross staffs Squad 6.
